    this is the way

I wonder if Nintendo will release a tweet this week disclosing the sales from the first weekend. Considering it was sold out in a lot of places in different countries I assume the 3 day sales are around 8- 8.5 millions and I’m being modest with the number.

  3. Thats alotta copies! Im sure they are going to be very happy with the return on their years of investment in the franchise. Makes you wonder why they didnt do more for their big zelda anniversary like they did for mario.

And this is only physical copies, not counting digital.

I was pretty sure it sold at least 1 copy. Then my friend got it so we have 2 confirmed for sure.

Interesting to see how much stronger Nintendo is in France compared to UK. Both countries have around the same population and boxed TOTK sales is 500k in France and around 200k in UK.

Considering France had a population of like 68 million, that means that 0.7% of the entire French population has purchased TOTK so far, and it’s only been out 4 days.

That’s actually pretty surprising that in 4 days nearly 1% of France has bought TOTK. I’m interested what the percentage looks like in other countries now.

Damn. It’s more people buying the game than playing Redfall.

  9. protocod

I confirm. I one of those people who bought the game day1.

  10. Yeah, I was shocked to see so many people right at the opening, waiting to buy the game.

Apparently by the end of 2022 there were [slightly over 7 million](https://nintendosoup.com/nintendo-switch-becomes-best-selling-home-console-of-all-time-in-france/) Switches in France. That will have increased a bit in the last few months, but that’s still a pretty hefty percent of the userbase in the first days.

EDIT: If we were to extrapolate to the worldwide userbase (which is always dangerous to do from one data point) it would come to something like 9 million copies.

Now please Nintendo… I’ll offer my soul and two tickets for Windwaker HD and Twilight Princess HD Switch remasters and gift my Wii U with my not so small collection of games to a loved one on top of that…

They would have sold more if Amazon France allowed deliveries out of country. They were selling it for 55 euros.

  14. NoHelp_HelpDesk

I bought it for $45 usd. Thanks Costco and Nintendo voucher.

  15. I don’t know a single person with a switch who isn’t getting this game. I’m really curious to see the numbers.

Damn… in France alone? That’s crazy.

The game is great. You can pick at small flaws, but the fact that I’m loving it really just says a lot about how amazing the foundations of BotW was and I am re-exploring everything with the same sense of wonderment and amusement.

Such a well polished game. Congrats Nintendo

I played it for a few hours, and the map just keeps going. Even more than BotW. When you compare the density and the chasm and the sky islands, the amount of game in this game is endless. It’s insane! I don’t think I finished the introductory quests yet and I’m so far off the rails!

  18. greengoat64

(i haven’t played the game bc the last switch i had broke, but i have seen a little bit of gameplay on yt)

i can see why that is, the game looks great

  19. VerbalThermodynamics

That’s because ToTK is dope af.

  20. mattmccauslin

I wonder where that guy is who wanted to argue with me that it wouldn’t sell a couple million in the first week….

  21. longbrodmann

There’re 67m population there, 1m copies are no joke.

  22. KingoftheJabari

It’s actually ridiculous how this game feels like a copy of Botw, but is better in every way.

And there is so much more to do.

Though I wish I had some of the powers from Botw.

  23. Lee-bungalow

It could possibly end up being the most sold ever,I love it especially on an oled it runs and looks beautiful

  24. I knew it was gonna be massive after i picked up my copy from Best Buy on Friday. Usually I’m the only person in the store picking up the newest game, but last Friday it was hard to find anyone NOT walking out with TotK

  25. any north american numbers yet? the line for Nintendo NY was insane

  26. Internal-Clue5955

I am from India, Nintendo is not even official here and its much more expensive to buy a switch than say a PS or Xbox but here as well this game is getting soldout
