For more context on how crazy these sales are:

    * Already outsold all Zelda games, barring BotW
    * 500k units at retail in France
    * 208k units at retail in the UK
    * 170k+ units at retail in Spain

It already outsold the Japanese life-time sales of Breath of the Wild (2.22 million copies) in just 3 days.

Crazy considering how Zelda had lost significant popularity in Japan over the years since the Gamecube era started. These are Dragon Quest or Pokémon tier sales.

10 million overall in the first 3 days.

Make good games, get good numbers. Makes me wonder if they let Pokémon games cook instead of rushing them out what kind of monstrous titanic sales we could get.

  5. Do we think TotK has a chance of beating BotW’s lifetime sales? I know everyone says sequels rarely sell more than their predecessors; however, I think LoZ games are a unique case – considering people tend to view each release as a standalone game.

I mean, it’s not like this game is called Breath of the Wild 2, or Zelda 20. It kind of has its own legs.

I did not hesitate to pre-order this game, and I was not disappointed in the slightest. Makes me thankful Nintendo and devs took their time working on this game. I hope other studios/companies take note.
