The best Ottawa Pokemon Go Youtuber….is Poke Daxi but I am here too. This channel is where you come if you want ideas for:
Great League Teams
Ultra League Teams
Master League Teams
Pokemon Go announced their season 10: Rising Heroes. This coincides with the new season of GO Battle League. There are no move updates of consequence. Learn how to win go battle league and hit legend with this channel.
This week is ultra league and sunshine cup. Sunshine Cup is a 1500CP (Great League) with normal, fire, grass, and ground typings.
Armoured Mewtwo, Shadow Charizard, Umbreon. That’s about as much energy I have to write right now.

I had good success with slowpoke as a safe swap last time we had element cup. The confusion damage adds up super quick in little cups
Things I need help with, when to bait my opponent/ calling baits (if there are tips for this that would help). Also advantages of switch advantage and shield advantage
Read, write, think, and learn.
This comment is for the Algorithm ^.^
I’m leading with Chin and have Exeggcute as SS. Duck is my third
So many of these pokemon are unacessable. Where the hell do you get armored mewtwo or shadow zapados? 😢 Probably from a long time ago.
There is definitely an algorithm… I don’t know why people are hesitant to believe it. It may not be based on Pokémon but it’s definitely based on something because we’ve all noticed it when you switch up a team and you all of the sudden see completely different Pokémon. I wouldn’t call it a coincidence if it happens all the time.
On a different note, I finally faced you last time against your swampert team and you beat me with 1 hp against my aba team of hippo, nidoqueen and noctowl.
Im started use gyarados safe in ultra now.. So good wall chard and crunch good against tinas+cresselias etc. Gyarados kinda forgotten pokemon im not see it ages in ultra league
Wish i got shadow gyarados so dragon breath hit harder. Need hope they give this year some event where lot mons get their legacy moves like last year
We don't know for a fact that there's no algorithm. It's just that with a lack of evidence, there's a burden of proof on showing that it does exist. I think somebody should do a study on it. It would not be very difficult to verify. Anyone studying even undergraduate statistics could easily do this and it wouldn't be a waste of time, because they could get credit. I'm a software developer with degrees in math and computer science and I've thought about conducting a study.
The iv on that shadow charizard tho
When are Niantic bitches gonna rerelease Armored Mew2??
Hi Dan, let me know what you think. My reasoning:
Ducklett is the safest safe swap, only hard counter is Chinchou as you pointed out. So, for that reason I would run Bulbasaur in the lead (somewhat of an ABB team). You would then swap out when you see a fire, which ducklett can handle pretty well.
When your opponent swaps into a chinchou, you are at least one fast move ahead, so you would reach a brave bird before they reach a thunderbolt. They are likely to no shield the bb, you loose but can hard farm down with bulbasaur and have two charge moves for the fire that comes back in.
Awesome! That's my team! I've been running it for 2 seasons.
obstagoon tanked that dynamic punch cuz he obstructed, otherwise he woulda been dust
Dan you've caught a bunch of conspiracy theorists in your comments! XD
I'm relatively new to gbl. I know nothing about fast move timing. would love a video about it. also I don't have a lot of mons ready for gbl yet so I don't mind videos about teams. gives me inspiration of what mons I have to build. keep it up 🙂
Just checked the ranking for the elemental cup and of course I build a shadow ducklett some time back for no reason xD
You could make a series out of fast move timing. Kind of going on depth on different pokemon each video and showing their matchups
You could do a video exploring why so many streamers deny the existence of the algo, when everybody secretly knows it's real.
Do you think armored mewtwo will ever come back?
Man I hate that I quit for a few years I missed out on the Armored Mewtwo he looks badass
I love the idea of video series with detailed tips and tricks. Virtually every content creator does basically the same thing- commentary over 'showcase' battles where you might glean a bit of info but you rarely face the same situation the videos have. I would love the idea of a format that breaks down a team and goes over the meta in terms of how to handle bad leads, when to save energy, when to shield, how to read teams, how to catch/expect catches, which pokemon are core breaks for a meta. I want to see "bad" battles that highlight common mistakes. [Rant alert] I don't want this game to focus on broken pvp anymore and wish they would make it a geo-tagging, story-driven adventure which resembles the main series games, focusing on relationships with pokemon and not sitting at home tapping your phone for two hours every day.
3 things-
RE: Algorithm- I feel you. Last night, first 8/10 of my first games are Vigaroth or Swampert lead, ruining my UFisk lead. The other two matches, I swapped Decidueye into lead, and both of those matches I got an Owl or a Pidgeot lead. Wtf.
RE: Video content- I few thoughts. You don't have to pick between technical instruction and team composition. Do both, but drop it down to 2-3- videos per week. What makes Humancatcherbug's videos so amazing is that the analysis of the moves and matchups is just a constant part of his commentary. He doesn't release videos as often (and he has fewer subs), but the content threads the needle between both of things you mentioned. And you can also do shorts in between videos where you talk about your favorite guys, recent catches, dudes you shouldn't have powered up when you were a noob, pokemon you're still working on, how you prioritize builds and HOW you go about those builds. Do you do them incrementally, or all at once? What's the best methodology for elite TMs? Etc. That stuff can help as filler for you between the more technical battle analysis. BBM is sometimes.
RE: Little Cup- I'm thinking about trying Slugma, Binacle, or Dewpider as my 3rd, as they have fair matchups against grass and Ducklet. I'm also considering just running Wooper as my lead, as he does OK against Ducklet and Chinchou, and I can save my own Ducklet in the back for their grass user, if one exists. I wonder if it's possible to trade a lowbie for a Mantyke of a sub-500 CP. Could be an interesting play as well.
If you read this far, thanks again for the great content. Keep up the hard work, amigo 🤙
Maybe teach how to catch moves! I guess many players had rough times against certain Pokemon like vs Registeel, Dragonite with uncountable Moves. Ty
What is the best team to run for all leagues? I only want to run one team next season, what is the best option.
I really want to see the fast move timing vid so please get that out when you can 🙂 But also as a thought as someone who just recently started GBL I don't have an excess of useful pokemon and therefore would greatly benefit from a video that can go more in-depth with good alternatives of meta mons and understanding what critical match-ups the alternatives win vs. the standards. I'm not sure how practical a video like this is for you to make but if you can find a good way to showcase that then I would absolutely watch it. Also you potentially could turn it into a long term series if it goes well by every event when the wild spawns change. F.E. if the next event has wooper spawning (If quagsire is a good swampert alternative being it's the same typing) you could take a meta swampert team replace it with quagsire and showcase how well it holds up vs. the current meta. This video premise would have a lot of reusability, with just changing the meta team up every new event with alternatives from the current spawns. It would greatly help newer GBL players in being able to build a variety of reasonably useful teams, potentially even semi-advanced players in learning how unordinary match-ups play out. Given that you play in a high elo I understand it could really hinder your push to Legend so if you don't want to then I completely understand. If the premise is confusing then I'm sorry for poorly explaining it, just food for thought.
Is it just me or do the battle clips look stretched horizontally?
(Edit: fun video regardless lol)
I'd like to see some deep dive IVs, break point discussions, min attack, defense and stamina for meta pokemon per league, for GL or UL 🙂 Tys! Love watching your battles and hoping for more analysis before I power up my mons.
I would like a series about knowing each role for Pokemon on your team, and maybe how to adjust to a meta shift. I find I always start off winning a lot in a meta, but when different Pokemon become more common, I don't know how to change my team.
Can you make a video on how to get out of the 2400 I cannot no matter how much I try I've been playing gbl for like a year now and I seem to have plateaued can you help?
I don't know if other content creators do this, but record your ELO (screenshot) at the end of each set and graph it each week. It would help show players how much fluctuation it takes to get to legend because it might not be obvious to most people. I personally have never gone above veteran, but I also only play around 1000 matches each season.
I was going to do chinchou ducklett cotonee
Aww man Dan….why you gotta flex lol
There 100% is an algorithm. It's probably based on movesets instead of typings or pokemon. There is too much coincidence in enemy team compositions with certain comps. It is 100% not random.
I feel your pain man. I won't hit Legend this season also. Dropped twice from 2990+ to 2750, and I ain't gonna build or can build little cup mons.
Quick Attack Shadow Vulpix is probably the best addition to your chinchou + Ducklett team
a video of your thought process of coming up with a team and thoughts on key matchups, kinda what you did at the end of the video of the video would be cool (but more structured possibly)
Dan, I love your videos, but the algorithm is real.. We just gotta live with it and work around it.
Run a normal Mewtwo instead of Armored Mewtwo. It is quicker to the Focus Blast than AMewtwo gets to the Dynamic Punch. And with a shield up. Mewtwo races through backlines as well like Charizard does.
dan, you should make videos to force you to start counting moves, and i'll learn how to count from your videos 😉
It would be great if you make a video on fast move timing I guess most of us r terrible in throwing charge moves 😂
If i just hear you talking about everything i am fine haha 🙂 you are with me on the way to work and back 🙂
