I hope it get port to Virtual console at some point.

Of course I didn’t play it, playing it alone was boring, and the requirements to get 4 players was absurd, 1 Gamecube, 4 GBAs and 4 GCN-GBA Cables. Although multiplayer with each one having their own screens could work on Switch.

I played it as well as the more obscure 4 swords that was included in the LTTP GBA remake.

  4. I couldn’t play it because I had no friends.

  5. I remember playing this twice, the first time single-player and then again multiplayer. My group of friends already had all the equipment needed to play the game since we already had it set up for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. It’s a fun spin on the traditional 2D Zelda formula; I liked how each player could freely explore indoor and Dark World areas on their GBA screen. This game could also “destroy” friendships just as well as Mario Party, thanks to friendly fire, intentional sabotage, and the end of level voting mechanic.

Edit: The game was largely based on A Link to the Past, but I also liked how they managed to incorporate a few elements from other Zelda games too, particularly the stuff from Link’s Awakening (e.g. Roc’s Feather, the 2D side scrolling sections).

Man I loved this game as a kid, I understand it was meant to be multiplayer but it was still enjoyable alone imo. Felt like I was playing a Link to the Past with a Super Mario World level system.

  7. I actually picked up all required hardware about 10 years ago and played through the entire thing with a couple of friends.

It was great fun and I am glad I still have the hardware in case I want to do it again. This one is almost impossible to re-release, after all.

  8. I’m probably wrong but, shouldn’t the thumbnail be “lost to time”? Not “lost in time”? Unless the sort of the game was about being stuck in a time loop again

Guess what, I have played it and I own it, because it is extremely unique af.

Played through the whole game solo back in the day and enjoyed it. Never even considered going to the trouble of getting others to play with. It’s perfectly fine as a single player game.
