Hitting lucky friends with someone living far away feels odd man

I know that feeling, I have a few lucky friends, no one nearby

  2. Gold-Perspective-699

They’ll never do it because regionals make them tons of money from egg events and go fests. If you don’t know the person or have no way of ever meeting them you can probably just delete them.

  3. Dr0nline11

Agreed. I have multiple lucky friends from different states and overseas 😔

  4. Pope_Squirrely

Hopefully we can have this original thought a few more times.

  5. AsstToTheBeerSales

PokĂ©monGO! It’s meant to help you connect with others from around the world! But only if you spend a ton of money to travel to meet them, or on raid passes

  6. imchalk36

Haha, I need 50 lucky trades for next level
so I would give many things for distance trades. Many things

  7. _pm_ur_tit_pics_pls_

They should implement gyms that act as Pokecentres where you can do worldwide trades as long as both people are at a Pokecentre.

  8. GardenSquid1

If they implemented long distance trades but made it so they were special trades, I feel that would be a fair balance. The only real reason to trade with someone on the other side of the planet would be for regional exclusives or to take advantage of them being a lucky friend.

  9. Insane_Snake

Why do you think Niantic would do anything that would make people living i non super populated areas have a better tims? They’re continuously proving they are againdt rural players, and that they are ableist

  10. redlurk47

Distance trade will never happen again. What in the last few years makes you think niantic would even think about this?

  11. Artrock80

If their plan was to prevent people from monetizing pokemon trades, they failed completely.

  12. ooojaeger

I just had one of those for the first time in a long while.

I guess that’s so because I moved 2 years ago and I’m already lucky friends with so many of the people in my old community that I never see anymore so can’t be double lucky

  13. franky3987

A way for niantic to easily enhance the player experience? Pfffft keep dreaming 😂

  14. LouBlacksail

Yeah I dont know anyone locally who plays regularly enough to make their friendship grind worth the effort, this just seems like a dead game anymore the more I log in the more solo hustling I have to do. Thank goodness I never go with the terms of agreement and made multiple accounts already I can utilize.

  15. But-WhyThough

Having in-game trading lobbies and systems to communicate between players outside of Reddit would be epic too

  16. Defenalone

My man we have been suggesting this for years and they will never agree

  17. Lemondr0pz

Honestly, it should be that Lucky Friend Trades can be done at any distance. But that doesn’t push people to interact in person so guessing Niantic wouldn’t do it

  18. Spindrune

I’m sure they’ll bring it back for a premium.

  19. Skrub_99

I agree but exclusively for lucky trades. They will never implement distance trades for everything. Making it just for luckys would keep the trades from being exploited as you have to be extremely lucky in the first part and already best friends to get the lucky trade option. I have been daily gifting with my wife for 2 years now and we still haven’t hit lucky
but managed to get it first day after hitting best friend with a random I added on pokegenie.

  20. 0rganicMach1ne

Since players want that and have been asking for it for years, they won’t do it. Best they can do is continue to make everything rigidly conditional and limit remote raiding.

  21. BreegullBeak

At the very least as a compromise you could be able to do a trade from any distance with a Lucky friend at the cost of it not being lucky.

  22. Jazlen8888

I have about 15 distance lucky friends 😂 they are good gift givers and openers so they stay đŸ‘đŸ»

  23. moistdragons

All of my friends who used to play the game stopped playing years ago so I have absolutely no one to trade with.

  24. friendIyfire1337

They want to encourage you to visit each other /s

  25. The_Eye_of_Ra

All of my Lucky Friends except for one are people that I’ll never meet in real life.

  26. DrOxycodone

How long does it take to become lucky friends? What did you do? My brother and I became best friends last week and I want us to get that lucky status for good trades

  27. BrachWurst

Yes! Even if it’s like one trade a week!

  28. m8remotion

How about 1000 coins for a remote trade pass
/s

  29. yeah it would be nice but this is Niantic we’re talking about

  30. Maserati777

Not sure why this isn’t available yet.

Obviously they can block regionals so thats not a reason to not do it.

  31. OssimPossim

If I could trade with ny best friend, who lives in another state, I’d be tempted to reinstall

  32. Chief-Toad753

If you become lucky friends you should be able to trade them wherever they are

  33. Mintbear

Honestly if there only was something like GTS (global trade station) it gives me huge nostalgia from previous pokemon games on gameboy. What if there were pokestops that enabled worldwide trading, acting as a global tradepoint? I remember putting ads up for things i wanted and there even was a website linked to the pokemon servers where you could see where everyone was from trading. It was a huge thing back then and now just very nostalgic!

  34. Wonderful_Emu_9610

    I’d settle for even temporary
given how rare LF is, you could stack them all up for once-per-season events

  35. merganzer

Yeah. I have two Lucky Friends in other countries. Such a waste.

I’m also trying to get an real overseas friend to start playing, but it’s like, “We can battle but we can’t trade.” Why isn’t that a feature for Ultra/Best friends?

  36. POrtega27

I’m lucky friends with like 3 people I don’t know in real life. 1 of them I raided with the most, so understood. Yet my fiancee and I have been best friends for over a year and haven’t hit lucky status yet.

  37. fr62564278

I get lucky friends with people across the ocean like within a week of becoming best friends. Meanwhile with my actual friends and locals, I’m still not lucky friends after several months of being best friends….

  38. LiveWhatULove

I think they spoke loud and clear with the remote raid things — “get out there and raid, trade, and play with your community like it’s 2016” if you can’t well, we don’t care about you or your lucky friends — as you are not our market!

  39. User2EletricBoogaloo

I wouldn’t count on it since Niantic has a hate boner for remote raids.

  40. Olivejuice2012

I have a lucky friend in florida and a lucky friend that I don’t even know

  41. djflylo69

Having a way to interact with your friends would be nice

  42. McSoapster

After they changed the remote raids I gave up on distance trades
