PSA: there is a >50% chance of getting a purified hundo Mewtwo after 26 shadow raids
A lot of people are complaining about the floor for shadow raids being 6/6/6 rather than 10/10/10 and saying these raids are not worth doing. If we do the math, there is a 27/1000 chance of getting a 13/13/13 or better from a raid with 6 IV floor. As such, the lowest n such that (1-27/1000)^n >.5, i.e. you have a greater than 50% chance of getting at least one purified hundo Mewtwo, is 26. If the floor were 10/10/10, that number would be 6 raids. Phundo mewtwo is very useful for when mega mewtwo is released. For comparison, the odds of having at least one hundo mewtwo after doing 26 regular mewtwo raids is only 11-12%. In other words, it's almost 5x more likely. Just don't try to get a hundo shadow as you'd need on average about 700 raids.
The difficulty of the raid is also likely overhyped. It should be a (theoretically) possible trio and fairly comfortable with 5 players, based on early estimates, even without using the new shard mechanic. It also has very budget counters as some of its best counters, hydreigon and chandelure, both of which had community days less than a year ago, unlike primal kyogre and groudon where there really were not great budget counters.
TL;DR *Shadow Mewtwo raids are good, I'll soon put out an infographic about it.* Shadow mewtwo is a great pokemon that you can now IV farm, it grants presumably 6XL candy per raid unboosted (assuming you catch it), and after 26 raids you have better than 50-50 odds of having a hundo, 5x the odds for normal raids. It is likely not difficult to do with 5 players even without the new mechanic and has very reasonable budget counters. I don't think it will be as impossible as people are saying, and it's very worth doing in my opinion.

6/6/6 floor is not that bad actually. Including purifying, lets say if you participate in 45 raids, probability of not getting a hundo Mewtwo is only 29%. It is a binomial distribution if you are interested.
In the one star raids you can get anywhere from 1-7 shards and three star raids can get you 3-9 shards. I’ve done numerous 1 & 3 star shadow raids with 5 people and received 1-9 for these raids
I actually did a one-star Shadow Poliwag Raid solo and got 5 shards with Fusion Bolt Zekrom this afternoon. So I'm guessing the number of shards you get from winning shadow raids can be random after watching this.

Who else having shit spawns? First hours into this event i saw scraftys everywhere and I felt hope to get enough to build my UL one but just 10 hours into the event it got debuffed for like 90% +
I remember back when we had these good events with alot of dragons and the spawns got less good the longer the event went on. Its so frustrating.
I think Apex Ho-Oh and Lugia was to make up for the fact that they don't have primal forms. I wish they did have mega forms, they would be unstoppable lol
