Looks like Nintendo listened to the price complaints and priced this one more reasonably lol
Seeing them incorporate smartphones is a smart move too in moving towards a Jackbox-like experience.

Well that’s interesting. For those of you who maybe didn’t know, there was an article released about a year ago about this game. It was apparently rated very poorly in internal playtesting and that some employees even raised concerns that it would tarnish Nintendo’s reputation. By the sounds of things this has just been sitting there finished for a while, I suppose it’s better to just release it with no fanfare and maybe make back some of the development costs than to do nothing at all.

The main mode of the game, the Team Battle Mode, pit at least two teams of players against each other in various minigames. This mode prominently featured Horse, who would give color commentary during the games. During the localization process, sources started calling the game “Horseshit” as shorthand. ”

… I really wonder that was the thought process of this, like, I played 1-2 switch once on a friend switch, it was fun but definitively was a: I will never touch this game again. Worst 1st Party switch game getting a sequel is one of the weirdest things ever.
Also, if it is worse than the Gollum game (the localizers refered at this game as Horseshit) it would be the funniest thing ever. I just really hope at this point Astral Chain 2 is a real thing, that game actually deserves a sequel.

Last I heard from this game was that people pretty much called “🐴💩”. Still find it surprising they actually did it after seeing this post. I thought it was going to be dead and not confirmed coming at all.

lmao this game is real and it is totally sent to die. Outside of the known circumstances of the development, nintendo announced it out of nowhere for june already (and between TOTK and Pikmin 4) and they didnt even post a trailer. This is clearly only because the game is done and they are probably already counting on it to lose money lol
Shame this happened because this is developed by 1-2 Switch, Game Builder Garage, Switch Sports, Labo, Ring Fit, Brain Training team from Nintendo EPD which is very experimental and is the team inside EPD that released the most games on Switch.
Edit: also i just realized that all Nintendo releases from 2017 now have sequels, except Arms and Mario Odyssey lol
I’m not even going to lie out of the 150+ games I’ve played in my lifetime, this is the worst one out of all of them. Imagine paying 60$ for this crap on release day

Announced via a Twitter post, no video or marketing and for $30. Yea they probably have 0 faith in this and just want to get it out.
For their sake hope they were able to fix those issues that reportedly made it so awful it would hurt the brand in that leak report. But it definitely would be pretty funny if right after ToTK, one of the highest rated games this year, they release an absolute stinker
