Using a Pinap and a Great Ball, did you really want to catch it?
You should have used a golden razz and ultra ball.. with an excellent and those two things it’s like a 33% to catch. With whatever you did it’s not even close.
Dont use Pinap it increases the chances of running. Although theres no way to prove that but mons that have ran from me are always the mons I used a pinap with.
I had a 130’s articuno with a silver pinap break out of a great throw ultraball and run.

I haven’t seen any g birds yet but with legends I usually end up catching them more often with a PokeBall instead of g ball or u ball lol ππ without razz’s too lmao

After only seeing this one once before a while ago and not catching it, I gave in and used my master ball
For what it’s worth, I will now try to remember to use a golden pinap woth the master ball, at least get extra stuff

I had one of these guys appear several times with the daily incense before I finally got it together to actually catch it. Like the one in the photo, it was very low CP and had terrible stats though. And it does seem you only get one chance before it flees. Btw I’ve noticed using a pinap berry actually seems to make the catch more difficult. Unless you have a Pokemon where increased candy is your priority, you’re better off with no berry at all than any kind of pinap.

Letβs look at some estimates numbers. This thing has like 90% flee rate so odds are that you only get one shot.
Itβs base catch rate is around .3% and using a golden razz gives it roughly +2%. Using an ultra is +2%. Curve throw is like +.5. Having both platinum medals gives it another +3%, and landing a tiny excellent is around +3%. It being level one gives around +4% so you have whopping 14% chance to catch if you do everything perfectly.
You know how it goes, if you do everything perfectly and it gets away thatβs not your fault. You miss that excellent or ehem use a great ball or a pinap, thatβs on you
