Pokemon Go announced their new season GO Battle League: HIdden Gems. With this we saw a ton of move updates including buffs to walrein, dunsparce, alolan sandslash, clefable, emolga, and others with a nerf to trevenant.
This week is open great league and summer cup. Summer cup is a 1500cp league with fire, water, electric, grass, and bug typings.
With these new buffs it’s time to test them out in Great League. A more low key buff is that to whiscash. A pokemon that can spam mud bombs now hits a little harder. Does this buff make it much better in the great league meta? Paired with noctowl and umbreon.

Drifblim with mystical fire is good for ice types, fairy types, and steel. The A ninetales, A sandslash, G fisk, escav, froslass, walrein, and abomasnow are some examples of the new movements viability.
Mud boi buffs are nice but if you are going to use a mud boi, just go with swampert. If youre going to be weak to grass might as well just use pert. And if you dont have pert built up, grind the water grunt before its out of the rotation

Hello Dan, i wanna ask you something, i best buddy an umbreon but accidentally powered it up to just 1 less then 1497 i thought best buddy bosst puts one level up, but it's 2, so what should I do?
And second till what ranking number a mons IV are ok like top 10 or top 50 or what?

So many mud boys and steels and medis
Been trying to counter and embrace the changes. Both successful. Owl/Deoxy/medicham ABB to crush these buffed poison and ice Pokemon. Medicham/lickitung/shadow ASandslash, try to draw out their fighter with licky and save 1 shield for A-sandslash. Hits like a truck.
The first week of the season is always interesting. Never know what you are going to find. For me I've been seeing quite a few Beedrills.
Shadow quag makes a big difference with the mud bomb buff
Would love to see included in the future "tested all new pokemon and teams for them" video include a team that counters specifically the medicham/lanturn/noctowl team, its the most common team I see everywhere
You're considering #50 Emolga not good? It's not a wild spawn this season as far as I know, so you might be waiting for a long time for any better than that!
Edit: To put this into context, 99% of Emolga you catch will be worse than this. And that of course increases taking into account chance of incorrect weather. I feel like unless you're extremely lucky you'd need some sort of Emolga event/nest to stand a realistic chance of improving on #50.
