I swear they do this on purpose. Every time I take a break for more than about a month, I get welcomed with a shiny the day I come back. I think it’s happened to me at least 3 or 4 times now.

A bug happened to me once and instead of the three starter Pokémon the was four, a random stunfisk. I click on the stunfisk and it’s a shiny, catch it and break the game. Game did not know what to do because I didn’t catch a starter Pokémon

I’m not at all a serious player, re-downloaded in March to help keep my mind distracted whilst on walks, however my personal experience from the game so far… Shiny rates are not random (always seem to catch them when I login to catch a daily Pokémon, or after a few days off, etc… Never on a long walk where I catch 150 Pokémon), catch rates are not random (significantly lowers with more poke balls in your items), galar birds (only spawned when I’ve explored new areas, I even had 2 birds appear at once), egg spawns (hatched 30+ eggs looking for a Machop to evolve him… Didn’t get any… then once I buddied him to get candy and evolved him, machop back in every other egg)… None of it feels like RNG based on my experience, not even close actually.

Same thing happened to me, except it was a shiny wild Venasaur. Happened to catch. First day ever playing. 6 months ago, and after reading into the new Niantic controversies, it seems they are really leaning into the business aspect of Pokemon Go. Chances of getting a Shiny from Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf raids if you are doing it remotely have decreased from 1/20 to a whopping 1/125. Truthfully, heartbreakingly sad

I have gotten two shiny Azelf (my region) and my first Mesprit was shiny. The amount of money I want to spend on remote passes to complete the shiny trio ….. Yeah, it’s how they get you hooked. Lol
