i stopped playing in 2019 and started again early last month so i haven’t been active on my account for around 3 and a half years
They are wild spawns across the world, field research rewards, GBL encounters, and can be found in the 10km adventure sync eggs
Yesterday, I met Dratini from a field research mission, it says “Catch a Dragon type Pokemon”
So I caught an Executor Arola (dragon type) to complete the field research mission
i think rocket stops but very rare
The rocket grunt that says “ROAR! Did you hear that sound?”
Trade? Does it have to be wild?
If you have one in your pokestash you can just make it a buddy real quick and grab it. It doesn’t have to be wild.
They’re a wild spawn in Northern Hemisphere right now
snapshot one from storage, that should work.
We always get them in pvp. I think they had a community day not long ago too
it doesnt say in the wild so you could probably take one of a dratini you have as buddy if you still have one sitting in your box or have a friend trade you one

Couldn’t you just trade one and buddy snapshot
Daily incense, shadow dratini from grunts, GBL rewards every couple of seasons, 10Km adventure sync egg, and it’s constantly featured in dragon events
Just take a picture of the one you got the step before?
This doesn’t say take a wild snapshot. Can’t you just make it your buddy and take a few pictures?

I have the same research! I recently started playing again as well.
It doesn’t say a wild dratini. So wouldn’t it work if you have one and do it that way?
Battle league. I’ve got like, 8 of them
Best bet if there aren’t wild spawns is daily adventure incense and hope you get lucky

I’ve caught a couple recently from pvp reward encounters
I’ve found if you google search this “pokemon go (insert pokemon name) spawn points” you can generally find where to find certain pokemon.
They have been popping up on my daily inscent like crazy but I have been popping mine off driving down the beach

I feel like I did one of these by literally taking a snapshot of my buddy. Believe it was for whismur. That one might have been an outlier but it worked.
If it doesn’t specify in the wild, you might be able to get a friend to trade you one.
I have something similar for take a snapshot of landorus. I’ll never complete that one.
If you have one at all, make it your buddy and take a photo. Might work. The task doesn’t specify a wild dratini

If you have one you can just take a picture of it. It doesn’t say wild dratini
Pull up the Dratini in your bag and hit the camera. Take a photo and you’re done. This research doesn’t mention it being in the wild.
Another trick too is when a research says take 5 pictures of x type Pokemon, you just take 5 consecutive photos of the same Pokemon and you’re done lol
I did this research last year and for months I couldn’t locate a dratini then around this time of year I walked down near a local beach and finally got it
Coming from someone who started but did not complete the community Day classic research for Dratini, they are very rare spawns where I am lol. Who knows if I’ll ever complete the research ☹️
