How does a ‘technical’ glitch happen to affect shiny odds on remote raids only? It sounds like they were caught red-handed and are just trying to cover up now. They keep testing what stuff they can get away with nerfing and then they will apologize for the ones that the community caught

What timeframe are we talking here? (I’m not a big raider – ftp, never enough coins for a lot of remote passes, and no community to do in person)
I did 1 Mesprit remote raid, right in the beginning (first day I think).
Will I get the compensation?

Nice they’re actually giving passes back instead of using their usual excuse of “well shinies aren’t even guaranteed so we don’t have to compensate anything”.

My mom has been doing the 5 remote raids everyday since Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf started. She was complaining about not getting any of them shiny, now we know why.

It’s good of them to acknowledge a mistake and take steps to correct it.
However this doesn’t suddenly absolve Niantic of all the other papercut mistakes they’ve made and doesn’t show them taking any steps to stop these kinds of mistakes from happening.
Give them credit where credit is due right now, but still continue to hold them accountable and double check their work. Because this very well could be a “they got caught” situation and they haven’t transparently communicated anything they are doing to avoid these kinds of issues in the future.

I’m a software dev and this whole thing sounds like absolute bullshit.
I’m having an extremely hard time understanding this bug and how it only effected remote raids, and didn’t fully disable shiny rates, catch rates or anything else. Instead it just perfectly lowered the shiny rate down to 125 from 20.
I’m sorry but unless they explain what happened, I would bet my life on this being they got caught way sooner than they expected with silph road running down.
