Does it have motion controls from the Wii?

I honestly really wish I could buy this to play with my son. I might be getting replaced by AI at work, so until I know for sure, no fun buys. But I know it’ll be here for me when I can get it.
Enjoy everyone!

Never played Pikmin, should i wait for a sale then?
thewwwyzzerdd
for the first 2 games does the right stick function as the C-stick did in the original games? I want to buy this for my wife, but I know that the OG c-stick controls for moving the pikmin around are a major part of the gameplay nostalgia for her.

Absolutely minimum effort put into this, why $50 and why did it take this long to get them on switch

It’s amazing how Pikmin 2 looks almost exactly the same in HD as it does in standard. That game had crazy good graphics for 2004.

30fps for PS2 era games for $60 nice

ok so its a ripoff but still worth getting? always wanted to play 1+2 but never picked them up on GC or Wii (when I started diving into those collections a couple years ago)

Also generally a physical game person but the physical release being 3 months away, and coming out after 4 throws a wrench in those plans

I have 3 deluxe sitting on a shelf that has been part of my never ending backlog, but I can re-prioritize with ease

at least with Metroid Prime it came out a couple weeks after the Direct digital shadow drop
Starfall33
Considering how bare bones the ports are 50-60 are overpriced for what they are charging for.

I was excited as heck for this when I saw it announced; as it was an instance of Nintendo going a pseudo-Virtual Console like style of release…
… until I saw the price.
It’s disgusting that games that are essentially a decade old port; are being released for anything over $20.
To me, Pikmins 1 & 2 should be $15 individually and maybe do a $25 bundle.
**Again, these are ports**. There is zero remastering/remaking going on here.
In fact; you’d have probably put money on the fact that whenever NSO gets its Gamecube launcher/app thing; that these 2 games would have been included in that (granted the Gamecube app is almost certainly going to be put behind the Expansion priced tier of NSO; but still).
Just like with the GTA Definitive Edition. Those games are glorified ports. At least with those games, on the other consoles, you get the added feature of Trophy/Achievement support.
PS: are we EVER going to get Nintendo’s version of Trophies/Achievements? 🙁

I’ll probably pass. Already have 3 Deluxe and 4 preordered. If it was like $20 for both games I’d probably be down.

One of the few series where I enjoyed shameless product placement. **AND NOW IT’S GONE!!**

I bought these games at $50 and I’m OK with that. After reading some of the comments I think I agree the price is high given the apparent lack of effort put into porting them. So far Pikmin 1 plays fine. My take is Nintendo released these for the Pikmin fans and to add hype to the Pikmin 4 release. I don’t think they expect to sell a lot of these two games and the price reflects the low projected sales. My fear though, is that the next system has been delayed for much longer than planned and these two games were probably supposed to be part of and NSO Gamecube option and instead these were released for purchase because Nintendo needs this sort of content to keep the switch going longer than anticipated.

I’ve been enjoying Pikmin 1 so far. I’ve played 3 a few times, so I know the general controls and loop. There are still some surprises though. I just had a smog monster attack my base and wipe out all my blue pikmin.

God I’ve always wanted to try these, only played 3 when I was a kid. If only I could afford either of these on my grad student intern salary. 🥲
If I need to prioritize getting one in the future when there’s a half off sale, which should I get?

Sadly these versions don’t have Full Motion Controls like Nintendo advertised (probably cause they’re ripped straight from the GameCube versions) so they control like absolute shit and the camera is awful. You’re better off buying them both for the Wii if you still own that console: you’ll save a lot of money and get a much better gameplay experience.

I hope this is a sign of more GameCube games to come to the switch. Looking at you wind waker and Twilight princess HD.
