    Full context from the page:

    > Batman: Arkham Asylum will be included on the Batman: Arkham Trilogy game cartridge. Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Knight will require an online connection to download and install both titles when the Batman: Arkham Trilogy cartridge is inserted into the Nintendo Switch console. All three games will then be playable as long as the cartridge is inserted into the Nintendo Switch console.

  2. Yeah, that makes sense. Knight is pretty big itself already.

TBF, they’re not exactly “small” games.

Knight not being a cloud game is surprising. Let’s see how it goes

I don’t know how even after all these years cartridges are so expensive that developers still take the cheap route and basically piss off 90% of the people who would even want to buy this physically…

  6. Played them recently on PS5 and kept telling people how I thought they would be perfect handheld Switch games. Very cool this is happening.

  7. SamsungAppleOnePlus

Fair, hope they make it clear on the physical packaging though.

  8. jjmawaken

Dang, this one and MGS. I wish they could release them all on physical with no downloads

I hate this trend. I’d literally rather just pay for them all separately as separate carts.

If I wanted digital, I’d buy digital.

I understand that the games are not “small”, but back then, you’d have 2 or 3 CDs when it was a big game. I’d rather have 3 physical carts in a box than having 1 game and 2 “DLC”, even if it cost a little bit more.

I don’t have anything against digital, more than half of my games are digital only, but IMO, the point of a physical copy is that I don’t need to download it. At least there’s one full game on the cart.

In this case I’m just going to pick this up digitally like I did Borderlands, since only one of the three games is on the cartridge.

So glad the cloud thing has largely been abandoned.

  13. I was hoping that City would be in the catridge too. Well I hope I have enough space for this one.

  14. Gabagoolgoomba

I got Arkham knight and original downloaded on my systems. Man but I do miss asylum

  15. So if ever I resold the physical cartridge and assuming I already downloaded Arkham city and Arkham knight, I would only be selling Arkham Asylum?

  16. Esteban2808

Disappointing but can’t say I’m surprised

  17. Throwaway753045

The fact that Knight is not a Cloud version is the best possible tradeoff for this

Switch is the greatest console for Nintendo but damn it’s the worst for physical collecting. We can never have nice things. RE4 physical? Nope. Batman Trilogy? Nope. GTA? Nope. MG? Nope.

The only thing I can think of, one day, someone will allow us to download the game onto our own cartridge but needs to be played on a hacked switch.

Really excited to play this on the OLED

  20. SuperShake66652

Meanwhile, Square can’t be bothered to get Kingdom Hearts 1-3D running natively. Fuck cloud versions sideways with a broomstick. Yes, I’m bitter.

  21. BebeFanMasterJ

I’m just happy to have a Batman game and a game with a playable Jason Todd/Red Hood since we never got Injustice 2.

  22. JustCallMeTsukasa-96

BECAUSE OF COURSE THEY HAVE TO BE DOWNLOADED!!!πŸ™„

That seems to be all these dang companies know to do when making such large compilations for their older games!

I mean I can KINDA understand Arkham Knight with how much of a graphcical leap that was compared to Asylum and City but COME ON NOW! They may as well not have made a physical copy at all!πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ

  23. a_phantom_limb

This might sound ridiculous, but why do collections *have* to be on just one cartridge anyway? Including mutiple discs in a game collection isn’t exactly strange, and it’s completely normal for movie collections, so why not for Switch game cards?

Now, I understand that cartridge manufacturing is substantially more expensive than pressing a disc. But for most people that actually want games on a physical format, wouldn’t they pay extra to have hard copies of the *complete* game experience? I know I would, at least.

  24. crunchatizemythighs

Well, at least the homebrew community will be able to ensure the preservation of these ports

  25. I would pay extra if they had each game on its own separate cartridge, if I wanted digital I would pay for digital. This news makes me hesitant to pull the trigger and buy the game now. Have to think of it is worth it to me.

  26. IamDisapointWorld

    Aaaaand fuck that.

I WILL NOT buy boxed DLC.

  27. Wait, what?

There’s a download for two thirds of what I’m buying, but I still need to insert the cartridge to play? That’s…like the worst of both worlds.

  28. YROK1986

So sick of this download crap for physical games. Ugh.
