Pokemon Go announced their new season GO Battle League: HIdden Gems. With this we saw a ton of move updates including buffs to walrein, dunsparce, alolan sandslash, clefable, emolga, and others with a nerf to trevenant.
This week is open ultra league and single-type cup – great league. This is a 1500CP league where you can only use pokemon that have one typing. Lots of pokemon not allowed in this meta like medicham, sableye, altaria, bastiodon, etc.
So how do you team build in a single-typing meta. Do you go ABB, balanced, all fighters, all of one typing? Let’s look at all the possibilities for putting together the best single-type cup teams.

No teams with Haxorus? It's the highest ranked dragon in the cup
the only pokemon I have for this are haxorus, regi, umbreon, politoed, and florges. Any recommendations?
I finally have a vigo built, but also a clefable and a haxorus.
I might try and build a politoed, but I have lurantis and serperior to alternate. Unsure if I want haxorus on the team or be safer with counters.
Interested in seeing if I can get some mileage with Haxorus and Fairy Wind Slurpuff. Just wondering what to pair them with. Vigoroth perhaps? Also maybe considering Dragon Tail for Hax instead of counter so I don't get walled by cofagrigus

I would like to run Meganium and Lurantis but I don't have a Confagrigus😬
I actually have no idea what to pick. Might as well go with a Team Rocket suit and Shadow Muk, Shadow Machamp and Shadow Granbull. It's gonna be fast and painful, either for me or my opponent.
Dragonair, vigoroth and cofugrigos. Thoughts?😊
I think after the first 3 days of this cup, it will shift to a fast move beatdown. So many pokemon with heavy damage on fast move like charm, dragon breath and counter will be the most common
My "Counter does not concern me" balanced team:
FW Clefable – Shadow Muk – Shiny Cofagrigus
This cup should be interesting, but I can already see the incoming degenerate teams lol

Can you double check something for me shaymin if you evolve to grass and flying form it works on single cup I just played a match that way

I think Umbreon is the only pure dark.
So I’m running Regi double ghost: shadow Banette safe swap + Coffin closer.
Any thoughts on Aromatisse v. spritzee? I had planned to run the former in a balanced team with Politoed and Ninetails. Great video!
How is it Sky form Shaimen is eligible but it’s grass/flying?
12-3 so far running Hitmontop (CC/SE), Charm Clefable, and Ninetails. Hitmontop is the tankiest of all the fighters and has two quick nukes.
This is another reason why dark and others need a buff.
Gg ,I think I lagged a couple of turns allowing our Coffas to cmp . But it’s my fault for playing where I did
I’m leaning towards using the Politoed balanced team , can the Ninetales be Shadow? Or does it need to be a regular Ninetales?
Are Ice punch + Night slash the optimal moves for Primeape?
Shadow Muk (attack weighted 5-5-15), Shadow Donphan, and Focus Blast Hypno cleaned up for me today. Cofa was tough but I was able to team it out twice. And I one-shot Shadow Granbull twice with an Earthquake from Donphan. Very satisfying.
No joke. I ran into a Coffin, Shadow Machamp, and Deoxys team. It turns out that the other forms of Deoxys are allowed and I don't see any Deoxys listed on pvpoke
Sunny Cherrim/Umbreon/Charmer
I've had decent success running Mew lead, Dubwool safe swap and S. Machamp closer. My only hard loss was a Charm Shadow Granbull in the back that ate my Machamp in 3 moves 😅
My options are kind of limited im using umbreon lead haxorus and clefable. Any idea who i should swap out to make this more viable?
