Not a big surprise, you could reasonably assume this even before everything regarding the FTC vs Microsoft case that made Microsoft’s financial officer reveal this.

Like the article says, Switch and Playstation are just significantly more popular platforms than Xbox (not even saying Xbox is *un*popular, the other two are just that much bigger). I’d imagine most multiplatform games see the majority of their revenue from Switch and PlayStation as opposed to Xbox, just because of the install base size difference.

I think any casual focused game in handheld form will always be more successful

No shit. For the uninformed, the Xbox version has been near forgotten. We still to this day do not have an Xbox Series X version, and one isn’t in sight on the horizon. They’ve seemingly scrapped that ray tracing update that was shown around the Series X launch too. For an Xbox owned company, they don’t really think about Xbox at all. Ever since our proprietary version was replaced with the Bedrock version, it’s felt downhill. That’s when our beneficial updates stopped.

Even if you ignore the obvious of this selling very well on a kid-focused handheld, it’s still still true that we’ve felt neglected for many, many years.

    You’d think they’d fix it a bit.

  5. I know it’s a million seller in Japan on the Switch.

And they still won’t rerelease the remaining Skin Packs. I need me those Walking Dead skins!

Is it still kinda bad on Switch? I was trying to get into when Sega released the Sonic stuff a while ago and it seemed like the only thing the software was capable of was crashing.

The switch version is so slow in terms of using the online store I’m amazed lol

  9. justcallmeryanok

And they still won’t fix the port huh

I work at a public library and run a minecraft program. Almost all the kids run minecraft on their switches at home. I was amazed.

If only they could improve its performance

And yet we still have the absolutely AWFUL and completely arbitrary limit of 2 GB per user across ALL created worlds. When will Nintendo fix this?

Now if they can optimize it a bit(I sometimes having frame drops when I play it on the Switch).

Makes perfect sense from a market standpoint so I don’t see how this is any news, it’s probably just more backlash against the Activision adquisition and how first party Microsoft titles don’t have a huge crowd in their systems or something along those lines.

Either way it’s a shame because people buy this release without knowing how bad it is, they juts imagine that because it’s a simple game like Minecraft it SHOULD run well on the Switch.

  15. Oh_Blazing

the japanese side of my family fucking loves minecraft on the switch so makes sense

I love the comments about performance on The switch. Our kids don’t care about FPS they just have fun.

Obvious. Switch has sold more consoles. Far more

  18. Zandrick

It’s almost like they put a famously kid friendly game on a famously kid friendly system

  19. Wrong_Revolution_679

Wow…..imagine your game doing better than your own platform

  20. My daughter put over 1,000hrs on my profile in that game. She played it from age 4-6.

And yet you still hear people say “bedrock runs so much smoother than java… in what world?!”

  22. Vegan9YearOld

I would guess the majority of Xbox mc players have a game pass copy so makes sense
