Is this a Shiny? If not what is it? (I’m new)



I’m new to Pokémon go and I caught this Jigglypuff. I have caught one before, but this one’s eyes are green. So is this a shiny?

    Yes. Shiny are rarer color variants that also have those white sparkles. If you check it in your box you’ll see a ✨ icon next to it.

    It is! Congrations! To tell the difference, if one looks a bit different (even the slightest) in color, it’s a shiny! Or you can just look for the sparkles as you see.

    Just be glad they’ve added the sparkle label on your Pokémon screen. I hatched a shiny pichu years ago, before the label was added. Deleted a bunch of my pichu, kept that one because the IV was slightly better than my others. Found out months later (when the sparkles were added) that it had been a shiny. If the IVs had been any worse, I would’ve transferred it and kept a regular pichu instead.

    Congratulations!

    My first shiny was a larvitar. I transfered it, because it was bad.

    Afterwards, I googled “shiny”.

    that is most definitely a shiny! i has a shiny Jigglypuff too but i traded it for a shiny quilladin

    Btw make sure you do community days. You’ll get tons of shinies and join your local discord/campfire group and learn fast catching. Good luck and have fun trainer.
