Pokemon Go announced their new season GO Battle League: HIdden Gems. With this we saw a ton of move updates including buffs to walrein, dunsparce, alolan sandslash, clefable, emolga, and others with a nerf to trevenant.
This week is open ultra league and single-type cup – great league. This is a 1500CP league where you can only use pokemon that have one typing. Lots of pokemon not allowed in this meta like medicham, sableye, altaria, bastiodon, etc. So how do you team build in a single-typing meta. Do you go ABB, balanced, all fighters, all of one typing? Let’s look at all the possibilities for putting together the best single-type cup teams.
Today we are looking at a team to gain ELO and begin climbing to legend. Vigoroth, Cofagrigus, Meganium. All 3 super solid in this meta, all very spammy with decent hitting charge moves.

All of the try hardy teams have Cofagrigus and Vigoroth or Dubwool. 😂😂😂 I mean, you know I'm guilty too.

One of the things that I noticed is that with high attack Pokemon I generally prefer leaning into the attack stat to more reliably win cmp…. Don't hate me but I run a 13 attack shadow Charizard in ultra…😅
I've ran into a lot of Meganiums ever since you posted them up, now every team I run has a ninetales 😂
Any substitutes for the coffin? The only good pvp iv yamask I have will go to over 1700cp.
I wish I'd been smarter when I started and researched everything more before blowing stardust and candy powering up Pokemon. Now I'm stuck farming for enough candy to evolve another Meganium for the 1500CP cap!
with the cof and vig matchup you think body slam even resisted would still be the better option ?
The only thing that i get dominated by when im using umbreon is machamp, grandbull if i have energy i win it a lot though.
I've not seen a single Meganium in all of the games I've played so far. It's walled by flying so it makes sense it's strong when they are gone.
I've done well with shadow Muk, florges, and ground type sandslash. A fighter in the back hurts a little since I'm always slow to switch.
You need to add world times for your stream!
I reamember when Hypno used to be Meta back in seasons 3-5 back them he only replacement was the shadow… but as you mention players now are very intone with the counting moves for most mons the same goes for other 4 turn fast move users like Talonflame am Galvantula! Good at the beginning but they fall down in used bc of this! I was looking to build a team with Meganm I like this one I’ll been giving it a try! Good video!
I've been seeing a lot more meganiums the last couple days
I ran shadow Dragonair in the lead with Vigoroth and Cofagrigus with some success. Vig/Cof core is really good.

I’m exempt from try hard teams. This game doesn’t let me get off a charge move. I never get cmp. I only play this game because I have no life.
I think you can schedule the stream a few hours in advance and it will show everyone when the stream is starting according to their local time
Hoping to hop on your live stream today! I haven't seen too many dragons where I am ranked, but I've been trying out Dragonair in the lead with Vigoroth and Greedent and it seems alright. I don't really have an answer to fairy except lots of body slams lol 😆

I don’t have a elite charged TM to use on my meganium and I’m wondering if replacing meganium for ninetails I’m the back would work as well?
I tried meg and just couldn’t get it to work for me on any teams. I either had to use both shields before megnanium had a chance to get on the field or it kept getting countered by nine tails
I hate to be the guy complaining about not owning Mon, but without Cofa this cup seems tough for me to crack. Energy/Shield lead on Cofa can beat almost anything and that seems to make it a staple.
Or perhaps it’s just the RPS nature/Algo pairing which is defining my experience.
I haven't seen many videos about melmetal with double iron bash and superpower, i feel like if it was paired with the right pokemon that it could really dominate in this cup

He keeps saying vigoroth has to elave vs coffagrigus, thats not even completly true in the 0 shield scenario it actually wins, 2 bulldoze kill and you barely survive their moves to get it out
