Pokemon Go announced their new season GO Battle League: HIdden Gems. With this we saw a ton of move updates including buffs to walrein, dunsparce, alolan sandslash, clefable, emolga, and others with a nerf to trevenant.
This week is master league premier and single-type cup – great league. This is a 1500CP league where you can only use pokemon that have one typing. Lots of pokemon not allowed in this meta like medicham, sableye, altaria, bastiodon, etc. Master League Premier is level 50 (XL Pokemon) but no legendary.
Hypno was so strong in the early seasons of GBL. Although its fall was in part to sableye, trevenant, and more XL pokemon, it also includes the 4 turn fast move on confusion. In this video I talk in length about fast move optimization and why 4 and 5 turn moves are brutal for pokemon.

did 12 Sets now with your Vig/Meg/Cof-team. works ok-ish, the meta is just all over the place, very hard to adjust to anything. better not talk of Elo, whatever I grinded in a lot of 3:2s all went down in a single 0:5

Looks like it has wide move coverage, and PvPoke says Snarl as a fast move? No stab seems weak unless Wild Charge can just nuke everything with that energy.

Still super hesitant on building a hypno just because the confusion takes so long.
Is anyone receiving one star to 0 star Pokémon after your go battles? The past five sets I have received Pokémon that are 0 star to one star as a reward?
don't worry guys, i'm doing my best every day to keep 4/5 turn moves relevant by throwing with awful timing. totally intentional
This is why dragon breath is one of probably the top 5 fast moves in the game and something like incinerate is not. On paper they’re pretty similar (same total damage and energy per turn but swapped, slightly favoring incinerate due to higher energy), but dragon breath is a 1-turn fast move so it’s got that crazy flexibility of being able to throw at any time.
That being said, since the 4 and 5 turn moves have such a high value for sneak damage, they can sometimes force the opponent to throw energy to avoid being KO’d. But the flexibility is just way more consistent.

Definitely reconsider reposting videos like this. I need help with counting moves, and while you did post them previously they are outdated. Doing them with again with the nuances from the newer season are good

I been playing pokemon since end of February. I still can’t count moves on 90 percent of pokemon. My elo is around 22/2500
I saw some Hypnos running Focus Blast, and it always caught me on guard. I run Umbreon to safe swap a Hypno. I can wall Hypno's common moveset, and when Hypno fires off 4+ Confusions, I tempted to shield it, in case it runs Focus Blast.
Fast move optimization is one of the hardest skills to master. I had to watch thotechtical’s video with the Mr Mime and Hypno like 4 times before barely understanding what he was doing 😂
Very nice! Do you have a video (or know about one, or even written information) about how turns work in general? I know the game is turn based, but it doesn’t look like it, so it’s kind of difficult to grasp. 😅
