I almost never buy these but one of my earliest gaming memories was playing Pole Posistion with my dad. I can still remember taking turns on the Atari 2600 and watching him play, just being happy he was playing with me. Its a very vivid memory for something that happened 35+ years ago.

PREPARE TO QUALIFY

Fun comparison – the entire ROM image for pole position is 8.0 KiB. This screenshot in the article is 9.8 KiB.

One head’s up: Unless I’m missing something (and I think I went through all the options) this only has the Japanese version of the game. The gameplay is the same but the voice samples are Japanese.
And it’s just not quite the same without “Prepare to qualify.”

Finally!

The last time I played Pole Position was in _Microsoft Return of Arcade_. It’s been awhile.
