Huge. I’ve enjoyed the legacy editions because I’m not too concerned about ultimate team. That being said, it sorely needed an update and I’m pumped for this.

I’ll generally buy fifa this year if that’s actually true, this is massive 😆

What, is it cold or sumthin’? tss tss.

Wow! Then what prevented Madden and NHL then?

No crossplay on switch is unfortunate, but version parity is huge

All it took was 7 years and 125 million consoles

  7. Joseki100

All it took was FIFA games dying and being reborn with anoter brand to get a FIFA game that isn’t dogshit.

can we get an nhl game now damnit!! fuck you EA!

FINALLY PLANTS VS ZOMBIES WASNT FOR NOTHING

Guess IGN will need to actually review the game this year

Could someone explain what this actually means please? I’m a football fan and as a consequence likes football games, but not really a gamer so not big on new gaming tech.

  12. Going off the small amount of gameplay we saw in the trailer, that actually looks promising? Hopefully in the next few years and potentially a new system we see Madden and NHL come to the Switch or a newer console.

I will buy, sorry😭 dream come true

    It only took 7 years…

But I’m curious to see how it will look on the Switch, mainly because they prioritize 60fps, as much as we mock FIFA ironically, the latest ones are a great example of how to use the new generation hardware the right way.

I’m not a huge FIFA fan, but my brother and nephews are, I’m so glad they’re finally making the effort to deliver a decent version for the Switch.

This will be the Joy-con killer, football games are well know for causing stick drift even on the best controllers.

I guess EA DOES want my money. Took them damn long enough. 🙄

So loss of fifa license aside, I wonder what changed
Maybe not having to pay licensing fees made a Switch frostbite port financially viable

Still strange given how well Fifa legacy games on the eahop, especially in Euroland

Oh boy I just hope anything good comes out of it.

Genuine question, does anyone actually care about EA Sports at this point? Their reputation is pretty bad now, no?

I don’t like football games, but I’m very happy with this news, it’s great to see the Switch finally getting a real FIFA with all the modes on other consoles.

But I’m curious to see how it will run, FIFA Legacy at least ran at 1080p/60fps, from what I’ve seen FIFA has always prioritized framerate since the sixth generation, I’m curious to see if it will run at 60fps on Switch.

Has Frostbite been utilized on the Switch before?

  22. Nhl switched to frostbite and it’s the exact same game, don’t expect much.

  23. Kitchen-Onion-1650

Hope this means they’ll also release Madden on the switch

  24. Yansothebear

    for those who doesn’t know:
up until now FIFA games on the switch were basically the same version and were using the same game engine as the one on PS3 and XBOX 360 lol (and that’s not even the FIFA 19 case that everyone is talking about, it’s really more like FIFA 16!).
i love FIFA and i love switch, finally we’ll get a decent version! (let’s hope)

  25. New engine is ok, but will this mean they are introducing the game modes from the other versions?
