Routes have been impossible for most players to find. I live near DC and have found none. Hopefully that makes you feel a bit better.

Same here! I’m a rural player but I go into the city (Sydney) for work sometimes and I’ve only found two routes so far. Big fail Niantic.

I walked one yesterday in Toronto that took me from work to the train station and i wondered if they thought things through as i hope people aren’t silly enough to create route from the post office to their home or whatever to their home.

I watched a small bit from a YouTube video saying that the whole route situation hasn’t been rolled out for everyone yet? Which I guess is why you see it working for some people and not all? not sure how legit that is but maybe that has something to do with it..bc I don’t have any routes yet either which sucks..here’s to hoping we have it soon. :/

Want to know the best part? The research doesn’t even work for CREATING routes, beta testers basically have 0 incentive to make routes other than pray Niantic approves it so we can get cells later.

They say it’s being ‘rolled out’, but they’ve released this shiny new feature that most of the player base can’t even use yet. Not to mention the whole research task based around it.
Just another drop in the ocean of shit that we’re all trying desperately to enjoy.

It’s a new feature and I’m sure there’s quite a bottleneck right now in terms of Niantic reviewing route submissions. It’s not a timed research so let’s just give it some time.

I’m a little less irritated about Zygarde (because we all knew getting it to snake and megazord form would be a slog). I’m more irritated that they had bonuses tied to routes for the event but forgot to have any routes for 99.9% of the world, even in popular locations.
Why release a feature and promote an event that no one can use? All you are doing is making people even more angry and make yourself look bad (for the thousandth time recently). What was the point!

I do a daily metro ride through the entire vertical length of DC. Not a single one. I’ve checked almost everytime.

I know this isn’t the norm but I live right next to one in my city that only has 100k people. I feel very grateful. But even though I have one, I still can’t find any zygarde cells. Niantic needs to do better, and not roll out half finished features.

I walk across 4 miles in downtown Baltimore daily and have found no Routes. I was also in downtown Toronto on the first two days of the Routes launch and also saw zero Routes.

The distance that it searches needs to be greatly increased. There’s a park with a route <.5 mile from my work, but it doesn’t show up if you search the map…maybe add them to the map on Campfire too.

Even when you find them, good luck with cells. I’ve found 3 routes in my area and have walked a total of about 40 times and have yet to find a single cell.

I have only seen a couple in the Mall of America and the tracking is finicky. If your character lags or darts off it will pause the route and require you to go back to where you lost connection to resume the route.

I habe 3 routes in my 250k pop city. Created by 2 different persons I am very thankful for.

The main reason there isn’t many routes is because they didn’t release the route creation part of the feature to all yet so only those (like myself) who got picked to be the test monkeys of the route creation feature got access to do such. Most of the ones people see already were ones made by such. Also making a route takes a bit of time as Niantic is SUPER SUPER SUPER inconsistent with reviewing routes. One moment they publish it in less than 10 minutes, others a day, or in some rare cases AN ENTIRE MONTH!!!! I still have 2 routes “under review” and one hasn’t been published or rejected since the 8th of July…. And a second one is probably going to be the same way. While I had 3 other routes get successfully published.

You won’t be able to follow it because GPS drift made the route spike through someone’s house or a river, but take solace in the fact that you finally found one. That is your only reward.
