This is explicitly aimed at those online services selling you access to their Nintendo Account with games in them.

Nintendo soup says “Sharing paid software with others through the use of the same Nintendo Account”.
But google translate says “Sharing software for a fee using the Nintendo Account mechanism”.
Is Nintendo Soup’s translation bad or is this talking about game sharing?

Sony and Microsoft do the same thing, it’s a common rule. You can’t use your account to buy games and then rent it to a lot of people.

Fun. It’s like people think translation is 100% accurate and runs with it. We’ve been here before with ‘translators’ (probably just Google Translate) where they **mis**construe it.

If this is about game sharing, do they mean the reselling of physical copies or the selling of Nintendo accounts? Or some other way?

this isn’t including say having 3 switches and buying games on one account then being logged in on that account on all 3 switches then making whatever switch you’re using the primary account to play whatever games you have without having to buy it again, right? asking for a friend 😇😇😇😇😇😇

My launch switch was banned last week because my 2 adult boys wanted to get a game save off the switch and modded it to accomplish that goal I can no longer play any of my games as I would have to re download them and I cant access the shop. all because of a game save transfer lmao

I just wish that they would add a gift feature to buy a game and send it to someone. Wanted to buy a copy of TotK for my niece and nephew, had to buy gift cards and send them the codes.
I tried to buy them off of amazon but since gift cards are used in scams, amazon locked down my account. Went to Walgreens and had to get two $100 cards since there are no custom amount cards.

This may all be true, but Nintendo soup is also a muckraking source

This is not about account sharing, it’s about people selling their accounts online.
Here in Brazil is very common for people to sell accounts with games for one third of the price and normally, these games were bought with stolen credit cards. It’s pretty much the same with Playstation and Xbox accounts.
– illegal transactions of nintendo account with third party which includes sharing of software through sharing nintendo account
I just don’t see anything new written here that we don’t already know regarding game sharing by giving someone your account details. We knew that it is against TOS.

if nintendo doesn’t want my money, i’ll happily emulate all the games.

But yeah this must be targeted at the weird “FREE NINTENDO ACCOUNT W/ GAMES” scams floating around, which makes sense to try and police against

Two main points are;
– buying digital codes from reputable companies
– illegal transactions of nintendo account with third party which includes sharing of software through sharing nintendo account
I just don’t see anything new written here that we don’t already know regarding game sharing by giving someone your account details. We knew that it is against TOS.
