While I don’t play on Playstation and don’t really care about this IP I think it’s perfectly understandable for Sony to do that and to be honest it’s also a benefit for the consumers as it’s a really bad game (the video from Digital Foundry is pretty hilarious in that regard)

I don’t think the copyright claim would actually hold up in court — you can’t copyright ideas or settings or things like that, and knock-offs and obvious derivatives have a long history of surviving copyright claims. But at least it can intimidate small players that don’t have reasonable means to fight back.
I’m not saying “the game should stay” or otherwise defending it. I’m just stating the facts. There’s nothing actually copyrightable that is actually stolen.
