I am just happy to see Metroid Prime and Captain Toad Treasure Tracker here. Like yeah obviously they don’t sell as well as the toppers in the list but I still think this is a pretty good number for games that are ports from a different platform and also belong to niche franchises. It seems likely Nintendo will support these franchises in some way in the future.

  2. Man so many titles that I freaking love but are in the lower tier when it comes to sell numbers. The Switch is my favorite console of all time and has dethroned the previous champ, the SNES.

Splatoon 2 being that high and 3 fairly good shot to overtake it is brazy

Geez. Out of the first 30, I own 24. (And 10 more from the rest.) And I became a Nintendo gamer only three years ago, when my oldest daughter wanted a Switch for her 13th birthday to play Animal Crossing.

At this point, I’d almost find it more interesting to see which Nintendo published titles HAVEN’T cracked a million.

I miss the days when games that sold a million copies dropped to $19.99 MSRP.

I still can’t believe with how many people own it they never gave us more Animal Crossing DLC.

Whenever I see these lists I have to ask myself “what’s wrong with me that I’m in the minority and don’t really like Zelda games”. That said I’m glad they exist for those who it enjoy them (kind of the exact attitude I have for Dark Souls-like games…don’t like them personally but wouldn’t ask for them to be changed).

  9. Need to see those Pikmin 4 numbers! Has to be over a million right?

  10. Holy shit this is insane. Brian Training, which didn’t even get a US release got over a million. WTF

We’re at the point where Fire Emblem Three Houses has outsold Paper Mario, Mario Stikers, and Mario Golf.

Keep in mind, this was a franchise that was, at one point, practically unknown outside of Smash Bros due to being JP exclusive for a while and was on the brink of cancellation before Awakening revived the series to where it is now.

So imagine telling someone 10 years ago that a *Fire Emblem* title would outsell multiple *Mario spin-offs.*

And people wonder why it has such bolstered Smash representation. Whether you like it or not, the series is highly successful.

EDIT: Also nice to see the Xenoblade series doing so well. XC2 at 2.7M, XCDE at 1.8M, and XC3 at 1.8M. In total, the Xenoblade series has sold about *6.3 million* copies on Switch. Very nice to see my favorite series doing so well.

I’m a little surprised Nintendo pushes Xenoblade as a franchise as much as they do when the games, while still selling well, don’t sell that well relative to some of their other games. I’m surprised Arms (a franchise that’s likely dead at this point) sold more than any of the three Xenoblade games on Switch did. Not knocking Xenoblade (I bought all three games on Switch); just thought they would have sold more.

  13. God, nintendo games sell so hard when they’re on devices people actually own. God damn.

I own every game on that list. I didn’t realize there were that many first-party titles. I’ve been collecting them for years. I even have both versions of each Pokemon game.

I had no idea Luigi’s Mansion 3 did so well! I really loved that game and would love to see #4 someday

  16. Which console has the most million unit software sales?

  17. Ordinal43NotFound

Luigi’s Mansion doing so well makes me wish we got a new attempt on making a 3D Wario game.

Imagine a 3D Treasure Hunting Wario game made by the Nintendo EPD team.

*Tears of the Kingdom* is already #9, has outsold every Mario except Odyssey and MK8D, and **it’s barely been out four months.**

    This is crazy.
