    I went to the hoenn tour in Vegas and the first 2 hours pure lag I couldn't even do the primal raids I could hardly catch any pokemon

    It could be worst tomorrow or on sunday. Cause there is a typhoon forecast here in japan and the news says it may land fall tomorrow morning.

    Most of the times networks struggle more with the throughput / amount of data being sent back and forth on a small area than covering a big area with the same activity. Since they have to cover such a wide area AND provide sufficient speed for thousands of players, they need to find a middle way between having enough throughput everywhere and covering as much area as possible.

    It's not necessarily as easy as just throwing more money / hardware at the problem from what I know, since the sheer amount of data being handled can overwhelm even high end hardware. But who knows if Niantic even makes an honest attempt to solve it… I can imagine that there are likely more things they can do, but making the experience seamless seems pretty hard to do from the outside. It's probably the same kind of problem event organizers for large conventions face, but worse

    I have a pokestop near my office. When Niantic increased the distance from which you could interact with stops, I was super excited. I could spin the stop and drop lures to catch pokemon. Recently, things have changed. I can still spin the stop but pokemon from lures only show up if I walk closer to it. Is anyone else seeing this? Did Niantic nerf the distance of catching pokemon back to the original?

    At the end of the day. Niantic ended up still makin money off of the in person event(s) So at this point I don’t expect them to try and “fix” the same issue that they had when they had GoFest at Vegas.

    Why make videos on this ot always happens on every go fest at this point it's useless we all know it never works on day one to meny people and servers go down okay we get videos like this mean literally nothing every player gets it and we all know Niantic won't fix it like everything else that they haven't done and do other crap that dose t need any fixes just leave it be and deal with it cuz since 2016 and now it's not going to be don't cuz it would of been fixed by now if they listen to us like they say it's just facts

    I live in NYC (suburbs) and am going Sunday but i would never travel just for a go-fest. If they can't have a smooth event in NYC, which regularly has massive events hosting an influx of thousands of tourists, forget about hoping for smooth mega-events anywhere else. Its an amazing place to visit and hope Poke gets the chance to come one day.

    I don't think spoofers matter because they're technically not there. They're still on the network at their house. If I'm not mistaken when you spoof your location you're just telling Niantic the coordinates you want to be at, so it's my opinion that's spoofers would not be clogging up the system there because they're not there

    I attended gofest 2022 in Seattle and they were no issues the entire day. But, I know most other big events have been a failure with connectivity issues galore.

    I live about 50 miles from NYC by train, so it's not a huge money waster, but it'll be my first Pokemon Go Fest. Definitely going to be there on the 2nd day (which hopefully won't be too bad).

    Thanks for your openess and honesty as always. Although I sometimes have a different perspective your videos are always fresh and I like to hear your views. I am reluctant to give pogo events a chance given the historic problems but will play the global events as I can play in my own town. A bad reputation is hard to lose once attained sorry go fest.

    The bad part about Vegas is they gave the event to everyone for both days for the inconvenience of day 1, which sucked cuz I bought both days and didn't get anything from them giving the 2nd day free to everyone, even if you didn't buy the 2nd day. The only lag I really experienced day 1 in Vegas was getting into raids, which primals first debut, so yeah I wanna raid. Idk I'll go to another event if I have the time off and money but mainly stick to the global stuff

    They should limit it to about half of what they anticipate cause most people are probably using one phone but with spoofers and people using multiple accounts its likely it could be too much for the servers.

    Niantic doesn't care about the problems they have. They are useless when you reach out to them for help. I know this from experience. I've thought about how they can be so thoughtless but I guess that's is how they work.
