Beat the Unbeatable Champion Extreme Battle Event, but I use the “wrong” units [Pokemon Masters EX]

Been a while since I did a “wrong” unit EBE clear though I sadly can’t do the obvious ones like “Wrong Leon” or “Wrong Gloria” coz I don’t have any of Leon’s units and I don’t have any of Gloria’s (good) units lol. I think this fight is decently challenging but I don’t think it’s as bad as Rose’s EBE, though it’s funny how this fight mixes Latias’s Fluid Fortification and Accuracy debuffs with Cobalion’s Hostile Environment 3 Poison Jab.

I know Sonia didn’t participate in the tournament but I didn’t know how else to name this ok hahaha. This is what I could put together for a non-limited run, and I had to EX Nessa for this fight since without the EX her sync wasn’t doing enough damage for me. Melony has a pretty great kit to answer a lot of this stage’s gimmicks while Sonia provided potion support. Hop could probably do this too but I wanted Sonia for the easier gauge management (and since I use Hop in another clear here).

Literally all of my attempts of this fight had at least one teammate being poisoned how is that fair??? Anyway it took me a couple resets to realize that the right play is to not let SS Leon sync at all, which thankfully an SEUN-boosted sync move + max move from Anni Raihan will do. Since Gordie takes care of the Copperajah, all that’s left is to survive long enough to whittle down the Eldegoss. I think Anni Raihan’s Disarm is needed here but if you have him at 3/5, I’d try replacing Piers with Sonia for the Defense debuffs. This is also my first time using 3/5 Gordie and all I got from his 3/5 grid was Head Start 1 and Trip Up 9 lol.

There are quite a lot of rival trio combos that work here but I wanted to go with this one since this gave me maximum debuffs. Hop and PalMarnie also have that Steel synergy while Bede has Group Therapy on his trainer move to get rid of any poisons. Bede doesn’t use any 4/5 tiles here but he definitely appreciates 3/5 for Hard Knocks.

This was originally gonna be the Galar NC trio but I figured everyone who has all three of them would default to using all three of them anyway, so I brought a different Marnie and a different Master Fair support. NC Hop’s B Move has just the right amount of Speed debuffs to keep Eternatus’ Speed unbuffed while one of Marnie’s 5/5 tiles provides both Attack and Defense debuffs to help with the sides. I didn’t expect SSA Cynthia to live through that Hyper Beam but at the same time I should’ve had more faith.
