Ok but I still dont like the Pikmin series

Pikmin 4 is really great. While not every new choice is an improvement from the previous installments the series definitely deserves the love it’s getting now. Hopefully that means we don’t have to wait another literal decade before the next game.

They really nailed it with 4. I say that as someone who was pretty disappointed with the demo, upon realizing that the overall tone of the games had been made more kid-friendly, the game itself was easier and more forgiving, the no-holds-barred accessibility concessions like the endless explanations of everything and anything.
It is a damn good game! There’s a lot of great gameplay and so much content. Dandori is fun, the world design is solid, the game feels great.
It’s not Pikmin 1 or 2. It’s a very different game – transitioning from a console RTS franchise done in the Nintendo exploration style, to an entirely different kind of game (a “Dandori game”, if you will). Once you can appreciate it as its own game and not exclusively through the lens of earlier Pikmin games, it is just so, so good imo.

Pikmin 4 hitting close to 600,000 copies in two weeks is really good for a Pikmin title! Nintendo Switch has made so many flailing franchises thrive and I love it. I hope the next Switch keeps the train rolling, Nintendo has had a thing going where they will have a successful system, and then 1 or 2 unsuccessful systems.

I’m not into Pikmin but anyone who is, is absolutely having a blast with P4..and on a technical level it’s really clean

One of the best looking games on the console IMO. Not quite Luigi’s Mansion 3 but definitely up there.
Very pleased for the Pikmin fans who waited so long, only to see their patience rewarded and then some.

I just hope we get some more Dandori challenges as DLC. I’ve been trying to beat my scores during my lunch breaks.

I wonder if pikmin will sell 1 million copies in Japan alone

As someone who’s been playing Pikmin since the first game and loves it deeply, I ended up being quite disappointed with 4 and have yet to finish it–something I’ve never done with another Pikmin game. I am glad to see Pikmin finally getting some well deserved recognition, but both here, with Zelda (which I also have yet to finish, another first for me with the series) and with Paper Mario, it feels like Nintendo has decided to completely change course and no longer make the games I love, but something different bearing their names. It feels like if Pokémon Legend had completely replaced the normal Pokémon games. I’m happy to see innovations to the old formula, but when they completely and radically change what I already LOVED about a series into basically a wholly different series… end of an era for me, and it makes me sad.
But for those of you enjoying the game, and especially those of you new to the franchise, I wish you all the best!

I’ll be honest, I played the previous games, was looking forward to this one but wasn’t too hyped about it, I can’t put it down. I’m having a ton of fun with it. I don’t know if it is the best in the series but sure is the one that hooked me the most.

Can someone explain to me why people upvote these sales posts? I understand how valuable ut is for companies to boost these type of posts to generate hype or illusions but why do people upvote and help them? Posts that directly comment on a game’s strength or experience don’t get as much up votes that misleading posts about sale numbers do. You’d think it would be the other way around

In the meantime, FF16 is… Well, let’s save Square Enix’s stock first… Hahaha

No couch co-op, no buy.

As someone who has never played a Pikmin game, what’s the overall experience of P4 like? I’m intrigued but currently entrenched in TotK

I had never played a Pikmin game before Pikmin 4 and it is becoming my favorite game on the switch
