This may be due to the strong devaluation suffered by the Argentine peso last Monday, after the primary elections held on sunday 13.

It’s so sad for who buys games in Argentina eshop, because most games in that eshop they were insanely cheap.

EDIT: Format.

Bought Spaltoon 2(+expansion) and Smash last night, my last cheap purchase(around 40 USD)

  2. Prime-TF

Any way to bypass this? I mean what would buying from their shop even do to them? Why ban it.

If anyone could explain lol. I just love buying games for cheap

Is this somehow gonna affect purchases made before the ban? I guess the devaluation must have been too strong because I remember SV DLC only cost 16 dollars.

Do you think it will be permanent or will it take a while to get back to normal?

  5. jaaaaaaaaaaav

I bought stardew valley there for 2bucks, i guess great things dont last long huh

That’s really unfortunate. Argentina eShop is keeping me away from jailbreaking and pirating switch games.

How bad is the Argentina economic situation?

That stinks. There were a lot of games I’d never buy but was willing to spend like 40% less to try, i.e. Crisis Core. Ironically now I won’t get as many games (think Steam style) and the creators will just get $0 instead.

Just look at the exchange rates and go from there.

  9. brzzcode

lol its not sad, the other thing that could have happened is them making the prices higher for argentina.

I didn’t realise this was still a thing, I remember buying eShop games in South African Rand years ago but I swear it stopped working at some point.

Thank you very much for explanation! That error was making me crazy.

I was JUST trying to buy a game today, this error used to happen before but it would usually go away after a week or so and I could go back to buying games again. As someone who lives in Paraguay, we don’t have our own eShop so I was using the Argentina one to acquire games at prices that were realistic for the purchasing power of my country.

I really hope I can still purchase games from it, and that it randomly starts working in a few days like it usually does. If not, I will have to go back to buying 2 or 3 games a year. An american has to work 6 hours to be able to afford a game, I have to work 4 days. It’s unfortunate and unfair

  13. Luckily I bought Diablo 2 & 3 bundle last week for just $5.75. Will surely miss ARG eshop.

So what happens if I change the region of the account that used for ARG to another region? Do I lose access to the games I bought from ARG?

Why does Hitler get to pay so much less than the rest of us?

  16. SpirasMostWanted

Glad I got 2 packs of vouchers for $110 total.

Me and one of my family members stopped gamesharing abruptly, so getting some games back in a dash was timely.

    End of an era.
