That would be awesome!
Excited to hear more about this game and for the release that’s coming SOON!

Online as in with friends or also teaming up with randos?

Wasn’t the original reason for no online some band wringy nonsense from Miyamoto about how “this is an action game where each player’s movement is so critical to co-op play that we felt online wasn’t feasible” ? Like with previous entries in the New Super Mario Bros line I mean.
I know he has a minor point, and the bigger issue is that Nintendo’s online infrastructure is generally awful, so now I’m wondering why they think they can pull it off now. There’s this stupidly hopeful part of me that thinks maybe they are investing in their online and/or writing better net code, but who knows.
Excited for the game. Looks ridiculous in the best way.

Awesome. Nintendo online functionality has been great in the past. This should be fantastic

Well we know what the ESRB rating of “Contains In App Purchases” means now. Must be a link to the eShop to buy online

I’m betting it’ll just be something simple like sharing “ghosts” for level speed runs, and not actual online multiplayer.

Hopefully it functions better than the co-op online play of Super Mario Maker 2. Playing courses with friends in that game was unplayable.

I have never been able to play Mario 3D World online play to this day because of how laggy it is.

I Wonder in what other ways would a Super Mario Bros. game need online play outside of co-op and making levels?

All my switch friends are far away so I hope this means we can play together.
