I think the most likely candidates for anniversary are Giovanni, Red, Blue, Lear, Paulo or Volo. If we get all Kanto or repeat Red, Blue and Leaf again though I will cry. I think everyone is done with Kanto pandering at this point. I'm hoping we get a mixed basket either way.

I'm pretty sure and kinda hopeful that Giovanni is one of the anniversary units. I mean it's not weird seeing a villain got a special treat especially as popular as him. Plus they've been hyping him up throughout the other villain teams storylines like he is scheming something big.
Paulo is another close candidate imo. This final arc is all about him. Plus he's the MC rival, the Last Evil, and a whole storyline dedicated to him. So I wouldn't be surprised if he paired up with Hoopa Unbound or even Dusk Lycanroc (cause we already have Midday n Midnight) or even a new evolution for Rockruff with the new DLC coming out who knows.
These are inline with the current villain arc. Maybe we'll have to fight Paulo or maybe partner with him to fight Giovanni. Well Giovanni + Blue + Leaf could be possible too since Red already got his.
I don't think (but I don't mind) that paldea charas especially the profs are introduced this time especially not when Arven isn't even introduced yet. Because I can see the storyline where his parents come from a different timeline and met him and just have a heartwrenching/warming story about them.
I really hope Marlon is getting one of the BP alts with Jellicent.
Would be incredibly fun if Lance and Lillie got another alt together.
I just realized something: Hoopa has been confirmed to pull people from across time. Like how Rose and Oleana are from before they caused an apocalypse. THEY CAN GIVE ARVEN HIS ACTUAL PARENTS BACK!
