Day 1 player. Level 50. Over 200k catches. Since 2016, I’ve been saying I want a shiny M unown. My first and last names both start with M and so does my game name. This was the only shiny unown I saw in the whole 8 hours. Got out a golden raspberry, Ultra ball, Great throw after just one wiggle and ran. I was beyond devastated. Glad it happened with only about 90 minutes left to play because it totally ruined my mood. Never since the first day have I been more upset about losing a Pokémon.

I lost shiny m too because of my go plus. Was my own fault really. Caught a shiny d a few minutes later though

This game is really badly designed and produced considering the catching mechanics.
Had a Swampert to which I gave a golden rasperry, made an Excellent curve ball first throw with Ultra Ball, it didnt stick, second throw with new golden rasperry ultra ball curved Great throw, it wiggled out and then ran.
Losing the swampert didnt bother me but it made me really despise the designers and creators of this game, as it’s just bad gameplay in every way you can think of.
Were you using an auto catcher when this happened by any chance?

Possibly speed locked, i had unown pop out for only going 20 mph, luckily no shinnies came up to run away so hopefully today in san fran will be better
My initials are MM too and I have wanted a shiny M since forever. I played on incense constantly, both days – and didn’t get a single shiny unown. Sigh.
My heart goes out to you – I’d be devastated if that happened to me! Let’s hope it means you’re due a better shiny unown M sometime soon!

That’s brutal. When auto catchers first came out I let the auto catcher catch a “murkow”. Only as I paid closer attention I realized it was an unknown. 5 years and I never got over it.
