Pokemon Go announced their new season GO Battle League: HIdden Gems. With this we saw a ton of move updates including buffs to walrein, dunsparce, alolan sandslash, clefable, emolga, and others with a nerf to trevenant.
This week is catch cup and master league. Catch Cup is a 1500CP Great League where you can only use pokemon you caught during this season of Hidden Gems

Many have pointed out that Registeel was not around this season. Just use Galarian Stunfisk as a substitute. PVPoke did not have a 'catch cup' rankings as 98% of the pokemon will be the same as normal great league.

I'm glad I hit veteran before the catch cup starts. This is one of the worst leagues bc it forces you to use stardust right as the new season is about to happen to have success. They should've ended the season with all 3 open leagues

Cress lead. Poliwrath swap. Greninja sweeping. I’m anticipating this on pretty much 50% of my sets. Maybe we’ll see Dubwools, Machamps and the odd Haxorus.
I could be completely off base but these mons were available and are fairly easy to use.
I am at 2691 just want to reach expert nothing more I haven't reached expert event once my highest elo used to be around 2550 this season there's a chance for expert rank 😃
When was sableye available this season? I didnt find any in team rocket
Recently caught/built a rank 1 Azu that I'll be pairing with Dubwool and Venusaur or A Slash depending on what I'm seeing. Anticipating a lot of Poliwraths and Greninjas so I'm thinking the Venusaur will be a solid choice.
Carbink poliwrath scrafty looks like it could work to me.
I have 4 pokemon built: Greninja, Poliwrath, Shadow Quagsire, and Bastiodon. I already hit legend so don't want to build anything with the new season inbound. I hope grass doesn't exist lol.

You're really overestimating how many Mons have been available this season. In your first team alone, Shadow (well, Purified) Sableye and Registeel have not been available this season and you need to ETM Hydro Cannon on Swampert because there hasn't been an event for it. Shadow Machamp, Walrein weren't available. As a matter of fact, the Team Rocket Frustration event happened 2/3 weeks into the season so unless you somehow was certain at that time that you'd use this Pokemon, all your Shadows from this season will still have Frustration.
Didn't build a ton this season. Not interested in building up my Bastiodon. Might go Altaria, Shadow Quagsire and Swampert. Unsure if I want to play into Catch Cup or go into ML with limited options.

I’m using jellicent lead with shadow ball and ice beam, togedemaru, and giggity giggity quagsire. It’s working rather well !!!
I’m going to build copies of Toxapex, Vigoroth and Obstagoon. I’ll end up keeping them all after the cup because of varying movesets and IVs from what I have.
I don’t think Return Sableye, Deoxys or Registeel will be found in the cup.
I originally thought about Basti double grass but problem is that it is GGs if A Shrew is in the lead.

Frosslass and Trev will be pretty rare also. Not sure any teams very viable. Look out for poli, ninjas and all the battle week mons

Today I faced xl medi ,lanturn and tree while I was running greninja,dubwool and aurorus at 2735 elo .
Fantasy cup was going great for me I wanna hit expert for first time but now it seems impossible 😭😭

Idk where all these legends throwing games are… have faced about 20 in the 2850-2950 range the last couple days and only 1 has thrown for me
I luckily built an Altaria, Lanturn, and Poliwrath beginning this season…. I gained 350 ELO with a 20 wins and 5 losses. I was Greninja hunting, but only saw around 5 or 6
Hit 2930 points today with lanturn/noctowl/medicham
