Pokemon Go

Whats the point of a ready up button when I cant use it when i just want to battle quickly

Like I actually have to wait 120 seconds for no one to join. And its a level 1 raid any way.

The game devs have mentioned again and again that they designed raiding as a group activity, so you only get the benefits (extra balls, more energy, ready button) if you play with others.

Playing alone means you take longer to beat the boss anyway so the extra wait is not relevant, and adding the ready option prevents someone nearby from joining to help.

This is a social game after all. Blocking other players from joining would not give any benefits to teamwork.

“nearby” players wouldn’t have a chance at joining if it worked that way. It’s stupid i know

They want you to create second account to brag how many active players they have šŸ˜‰

To nerf people in cars lol, once I was in a car and I was at a signal near a raid (don’t judge I was stil fairly new to raiding), So I started the raid and I kid you not, the light turned green when the raid had 20 seconds left, and when I just barely left the raid it said not allowed

Tdlr: i could have done the raid and now wasted a pass if it were not for the countdown

Wait… can you name pokemon like that without gettin banned?

This is probably the only time I’d get to use it as theres always 1-2 people in a large raid lobby who won’t hit it so you are still waiting.

Plus people who invite you click it before you join and so the lobby has already expired when you join.

Lol man seeing everyone’s ā€œbattle teamā€ makes me so sad. I literally only have 2 PokĆ©mon with CPs over 3000. And then rest are just sad. I bank on other people in raids having strong ass PokĆ©mon. But, I’m not a dickhead, I’ll have every one of my PokĆ©mon faint just to try to help the team lol. I’m not one of those who faints my initial team and never rejoin the battle. I’m a grown ass man with a full time job and no kids, I’m gonna buy all the revives lmao

It is probably just an issue with the current coding of it

At this point I feel like Niantic just have something against people who dont have anyone else to play with, ironically, like the PokĆ©mon Games themselves – you’re locked out of features unless you have someone else to play with.

I think they want this to be a scenario that encourages group play. Having even one other person with you can save you roughly 18 minutes if you do 10 raids in an event. It makes you want to pressure your friends to join. I know it made me want to send out remote raid invites, even during one star goomy raids, just because I was tired of sitting around. And that, in turn, encourages people to use up resources, and in some cases, may even be an easy way to get new and return players through peer pressure.

I think one clear benefit is for newer players. I can spank a one to three star raid easily on my own. By forcing me to wait, it gives low level players a chance to hop in and enjoy the raid I’d otherwise happily do alone. I can’t count the number of times I have been sitting in a turtonator (or other difficult 3 star) raid alone and suddenly a sub level 30 player just appears out of nowhere in the raid party, like HI! THANK YOU FOR A FREE TURTONATOR! and jokes aside, I do think that helps newer players get into raids and get some useable teams.

That’s what I’m saying and it pisses me the fuck off

Did you make a public or private lobby?

  13. zombeecharlie

They should at least allow this for 1 star raids, maybe even 3 stars. People solo them anyway.

  14. Carjacker13

They should allow a single trainer to ready up if they make a private room

this just seems like another benefit of having a second account which is technically not allowed. some other benefits: trading with yourself for luckies and XL candy. more shiny checks. someone to battle with/befriend if there is a research for that. send yourself gifts. knock yourself out of a gym.

it is stupid. but it’s so if a raid just started someone can’t start doing it themselves before other people get there. or that’s why i think atleast

  17. duckmaster09

I swear ever since they introduced trading and raids they’ve done nothing but add further incentive for everyone to create a second account -_-… I have one because of my gf but it speeds up the burnout from PoGo way too much if you’re constantly playing both at once all the time.

LMFAOOO YOUR TYRANITARS NAME HAS ME IN TEARS

Gotta give those people who aren’t going to show up a chance to not show up.

To be fair, I was at a gym in a park once. I was all by myself. I couldn’t see anyone around. I was waiting for the raid to start and suddenly someone else joined. I looked around but couldn’t see anyone close enough that I thought they’d be in the raid with me. Could be someone cheating but hey, Niantic wanted to make sure that the cheater could get in the raid on time.

  22. Zombieslave666

  23. whatabadsport

They’re just giving noobs a chance to jump in with someone higher leveled. That’s how it makes sense in my mind at least

  24. cjjones07

Bruh why you abusive to your tyranitar! 🤣

I started playing again a while ago. It had been a long time since I’d seen my account. Some of the names I found on my pokemon gave me a good chuckle. Others made me question my sanity…

This post reminded me of that.

General question: Are u allowed to ready up and then back out?

Because I did a remote rayquaza raid during the event and everything was fine u til it started. I was making my team and then all the sudden the raid started. Then I saw it was only 2 ppl in the raid and the other person wasn’t even the host. It was me and some random barely budging the hp. Just wow.

I contacted niantic and I got my passes back but this ready up system seems like the perfect way to grief ppl. Ready up so the timer starts to count from 10, back out, then the random player aka me has wasted a pass/ wasted money…
