Definitely looks a good bit more interesting than the NSMB titles, though I think a lot of how well it’ll be received is going to depend on the music. The art direction is a step up above previous games, but not stunning either. I liked the online features and equipable badges. I noticed some framerate dips in a few areas, which is disappointing in a game like this but not a huge deal.

Yep, I’m sure this game has exactly 7 worlds with no surprises. Just like every other 2D Mario from the last 20 years.

Love all the cool level ideas in this game

While it looks truly wonderful, I am not the biggest fan of the GOOD and GREAT popping up…

Probably wont play this at launch. Spiderman 2 will be right there, then mario rpg im way more keen for. If this was a mario odyssey sequel intead id be there day 1 though. I dont really care much about 2d platformers that arent metroidvanias

So are these the seven wonders of the world, or the seven worlds of Wonder?

Obviously we’ve been trained to expect secret bonus worlds, but it could also be something like, there’s ten levels per world. Since they highlighted the “complete levels out of order” aspect in the Direct, it would make some sense if the worlds had more levels in them to give you more of a choice.
