I couldn’t get much out of this interview. The only thing that seemed clear was that Nintendo wants to expand in the entertainment market beyond gaming.
He talks a little bit about the market of the Nintendo Switch. It is pretty clear that their main focus is to reach children and make the Switch their first console. The versatility of the Switch works well with families. He didn’t mention the older users, so I hope they will not be forgotten in the next iteration.

So it looks like whoever is the new Mario won’t be revealed until the actual game comes out and people can look at the credits. I guess they don’t want to make a big deal about it.
