I almost did this with a Fuecoco last night. Realized at the last second and stopped my thumb like a millimeter from the button. Crazy thing is I caught the Fuecoco with a normal pokeball and it turned out to be a hundo. Wouldn’t have been the worst thing in the world.

At least you knew you threw it, I logged in master ball was gone. So I wrote support claiming that it had gone missing, long story short they wrote back stating that I had used it on a sand shrew the day before. I don’t have any Sandshrew that show cought by a master ball. They responded that I deleted the pokémon. So I totally feel your pain, but at least you have proof you used your master ball.
