GameCube games really have aged so well because of the artstyle developers chose back in the day. It’s funny because Nintendo being “kiddy” was a massive liability in those days compared to the more gritty and so called realistic graphics of the competition (even though GCN had rogue squadron, resident evil 4, Metroid Prime).

But Nintendo’s games are so much more timeless. I honestly don’t even know if I’ll get the remake because the original is very much a beautiful game. Depends on QOL and additional features they choose to add. I have my Wii still hooked up to a TV which has component in and all my games backed up on a hard drive still, so it’s never a hassle to boot up these old games. I even use the SNES classic controllers plugged into my Wii remote to play my SNES games on it.

It looks more cardboard looking ( paper ) now..no bad thing.

It looks fantastic but I noticed the text animation for Koops was missing. I hope they add that back in, the text animation really made dialogue more fun.

The new version doesn’t really doesn’t look all that much different from the original…

I know with the art-style that’s somewhat a given, but it is funny how it looks like they literally slapped it through a free AI upscaler and can now charge full price for a “new” game.
