Pokemon GO has just announced the Adventures Abound season featuring the pokemon found in the Paldea Region. This season of GO Battle League features a significant move updates includes nerfs, buffs, and new moves. In total it came with over 150 move updates.

With all these move updates, this video will focus on pokemon that received a significant buff for this upcoming season of GO Battle League either through moves specifically being buffed or access to new moves.

Welcome to Beyond the Hype. I created this series as there is a lot of click bait and false impressions of pokemon and I want to give you a real in depth analysis of whether a pokemon is worth spending dust and candies on. In this video we look at ultra league greedent. Not so much surprising about this pokemon,. It’s bulky(ish), spammy, and doesn’t hit super hard. All the fighters are going to beat it but sometimes your spam can flip matchups. Paired with venusaur and alolan ninetales.

  1. I was actually surprised at both Greedant's and Dubwool's stat products, neither seemed as high as you'd think a level 50 pokemon in UL would be. Both are still absolute workhorses on the swap though

  2. Thanks for doing these before I invest in them. Also, have you thought of doing new cup breakdowns before the cup comes out? Like if I knew now. I could start building my Psychic team. Thanks!

  3. Something that is a little over looked when finding a good safe swap is the pokemons energy gain. Shadow Drapion is my fav UL safe swap, poison sting fast charge. By the time the opponent swaps out I already have 18-36 energy which flips so many match ups. Greedent is the same with cheap, diverse typing charge moves and super fast charging. I still prefer the dark/poison typing vs normal for a safe swap as there are so many fighters in this meta

  4. Ngl, my takeaway from this video was that I should start running Venusaur in the lead more often.
I've been going up against a lot of Greedent and Steelix in the OUL and Steelix definitely feels harder to take down than a Greedent.

  5. The wildcard of greedent is that it can win matchup which it should loose it you get double debuff.
It is a 10% chance though

  6. I've hit legend in the past with tackle greedent in ultra league.. it flips some of those matchups against some of the flyers and stuff like tapu and walrein that it would normally lose now with mud shot

  7. Been playing greedent lately and I agree with a lot of the assessment here about the bulk and damage being relatively mid.

You did mention it here, but I think greedent’s biggest strength is the utility it provides. If you’re in a bad situation you can burn so much of the switch clock by constantly spamming body slam. Opponents normally don’t want to shield a body slam from greedent so you can chip things down pretty effectively until your switch clock comes back up and you can try to make another play.

Normally opponents can’t reliably farm you down either or else you’re going to get to another move so often they’ll just dump energy into greedent and come out dry which could set up a good farm down situation for one of your other mons.

It’s a great and fun mon to use if you like flexibility and playmaking ability, if not necessarily very oppressive in its own right.

  8. I know some don’t like Poke AK. For PvP I’m only subscribed to you and Poke AK. What are your thoughts on the people being able to see all your PokĆ©mon and moves at the start of battles.

  9. Probably feels similar to guzzlord which is also all stamina I’m pretty sure.
