I just nominated 5 pokestops within walking distance from my neighborhood and they were all declined. Guess they DO want people driving while playing 🤷🏻‍♂️

  2. mastreballmew

So i find this odd because here in west europe my small town has a bunch granted whe dont have any routes yet but whe have a good 100+ pokestops/gyms and there random things like a sign a playground a school or a statue on somebodys lawn

  3. Serodin0

What’s on this street? The roads are weird

  4. terminiterrae

Man the US is a suburban nightmare, I really don’t even know how you’re expected to play on a regular not even daily basis with how the game is set up to work.

  5. HoopaDunka

Stop being lazy and make some Pokestops. /s

    Edited for cheekiness

  6. TheDiscardOfButter

How did you get jangmo-o candy while walking with weavile? No way it was by transfering because it looks like angry spinning and screen shoting…

  7. Lil_saul

Walk to other state my dude (that’s what they mean)

  8. “It’s easy, dude. Just walk lmao so easy why you crying about a free to play game?” -this sub, 2023

  9. Alternative_Net8931

My goal is to find a friend with a 3d printer and print out bunch of lil pokestops and tape them onto buildings. Ive seen posts of others doing it but yeah im still at step 1 lol

It’s bad too in the rural US where we don’t even have sidewalks here. I’m not going to walk or bike on a road barely big enough to fit a car!

  11. The Wayfarer guidelines are stupid. Stops should be able to exist anywhere, not just churches (who don’t want you there if you’re not there for their religion), playgrounds (WTF? parents with little kids sure as hell don’t want you there with your phone out), basketball courts (who goes out walking to see a scenic basketball court?) etc.

They should have been far more general so anybody anywhere would have the same stop access. Most of us aren’t “exploring” we’re walking the same routes again and again near home, work or school because doing anything else requires DRIVING.

    Huge fail in the philosophy.

  12. It really sucks.

Niantic is not an egalitarian company.

Pokémon GO is not an egalitarian game.

I am not attempting to defend this decision, I’m just trying to explain.

In theory, you can put a lot of effort into getting you and many locals together to nominate a ton of things via Wayfarer. At that point, you’re doing a job for Niantic in mapping out your local area. It’s totally not your job to do this, just an idea.

Where I live isn’t quite like this, but 5 years ago, it was a little bit like that. Our community banded together, and went nuts. Now, I don’t ever feel the need to leave my city to play, there’s tons of gyms and stops to play in. But it wasn’t quick and it wasn’t easy.

It also shouldn’t be necessary for you to do that to enjoy this game, and I’m sorry about that. It sucks.

Unfortunately, Niantic, if they read this post will just laugh. The rural community gets the same treatment as the disabled community who plays this game, Niantic writes them off, because they’ll make their money from other abled people in metropolitan areas, where they can harvest massive amounts of metropolitan markets to sell for a profit.

    Welcome to Pokémon GO.

Basically if you have any public thing around try your hardest to make it into a pokestop, past 3 months I have succeeded in making my little area from nothing to 6 stops and 3 gyms it made living in the middle of nowhere a lot nicer if you get a decline to send again and try to fix what they said was wrong to me 3 times on one just gotta push

  14. bforce1313

Maybe this game just isn’t for you?

Have you tried simply travelling to a gym multiple times a day to check for a raid? /s

  15. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen people say “60 raids in 80 days isn’t hard, just do a 1 star raid every day!” and I hope those people see this thread to understand what the issue is. For some of us the planets have to align perfectly to even see a 1 star raid.

This looks more suburban than rural but what do i know

  17. NeuroRadReilly

Looks more like the edge of a suburb to me. The having lots are small. There also seems to be a park at the upper left corner of your picture. That doesn’t have any disk or gym? It’s not, why not? Have you tried to put one in?

  18. PresentEuphoric2216

Some people unironically defend this btw

  19. I’m rural too. Requested a pokestop in January. It’s in a good location that meets all the criteria. However still “in voting” I’ve even reviewed countless other submissions to try and aid my nomination. But no luck.

  20. SomethinboutChickens

This is more of a playerbase issue.

Clowns on Nianticwayfarer tend to deny new pokestops as they think it’s their actual job.

  21. VendromLethys

No spawns no stops no gyms gotta love it

  22. Yeah I’m not walking 6 miles down a highway in the grass just to spin the 2 poke stops available

  23. Isiotic_Mind

Game is stupidly unbalanced in regards to pokestops. Go to a city park, so many gd pokestops all stacked on top of each other.
    Rural areas…few and far between.

  24. Darkstar_1-3

Unfortunately many of the reviewers on wayfarer act like they pay for PokeStop items with their own money, so they decline everything. It hurts the community and keeps the game from growing.

  25. Majik518

You are 42. Quit whining and put those submissions to work. Fill those centipede looking streets up.

  26. BitsyTipsy

Rural areas should have more Pokémon!

I seen some people say: “this is a walking a game, you have to get out there and maybe travel a bit!”
And it just seems crazy to me.

I can go to my local mall and get tons of poke stops real quick, and catch tons Pokémon. What the hell are these Pokémon doing in the mall anyways?

So should rural areas have a higher populations of Pokémon at least? Fine those areas have less stops, but those areas should see more Pokémon!

Down the street I have 10 Pokestops near the library. I fill up my items super quick, have multiple raids near the stops, I can capture all day and still have a full bag.

  27. This is it rural at all. Looks like a big suburb 🤦🏻‍♂️

  28. RheniMiottih

Ive been recommending potholes in our neighborhood. We now successfully got 6 stops and 1 gym and they are all pothole covers… maybe you can try that?

  29. Stevie22wonder

That doesn’t appear super rural to me. I live in a neighborhood with private country club, and a guy I know has gotten 6 pokestops and a gym accepted, and they should 100% *NOT* have been accepted, but I guess it just depends how convincing you are and if your account is flagged or not. I know people who try submitting and they’re told they are currently prohibited from submitting, even though they meet every credential everyone else has for submitting. Niantic is a fickle beast.

  30. This is the reason why so many people spoof 🤭

  31. verdant-moon

Me when Americans confuse “rural” and “suburban” 🤦🏻‍♀️

  32. rageattheworld

You need to mess up your local cul de sac. Start doing wall graffiti and get those nominated.🥲

  33. ForgottenNebuli

Tbh that neighborhood does NOT look rural at sll
