Scorpion had a lot of caffeine in the Switch version.

I’m actually impressed. Aside from the facial expressions and load times, everything else looks somewhat comparable to the other versions of the game on Switch.

    Switch I can understand.

But why face seem so different between XSX and PS5 version?

Turning of facial animations reminds of of the 3DS port of Street Fighter 4’s JPG backgrounds.

Obviously, Switch doesn’t look as good as PS5 and XSX, but I honestly think it looks better than Steam Deck. The Steam Deck version looks like they took a higher quality version and turned the settings down, because that’s what it is. It’s blurry as heck, the textures are low-res and a bunch of effects are missing. The Switch version looks like it was just built from the ground up like that, like we’re looking at a game from an earlier console generation, and that’s better in my book than the obviously compromised Steam Deck visuals.

Switch holds up, which is a far cry from what you could have said from previous Nintendo consoles.

I feel like this game was better off just being a pc, Xbox and ps5 game. As much as I like handhelds most fighter games are better with a control pad and a compatible system that can display higher refresh rates

  8. I’m still amazed that NRS even bothered to bring MK1 to Switch while leaving behind Xbox One and PS4.

For some reason, seeing Johnny Cage’s eyes look so derpy in the Switch version just really ticked my funny bone. Got that Ted Bundy stare.

    Xbox: *Angry*
    Steam Deck: *Angry*
    PS5: *Strangely interested*
    Switch: *Angry*

Some of the differences I noticed seem like it’s a completely different team working on the switch version. With art and optimization choices being made for that version specifically.

That’s the right way to do it.

One interesting choice is the lack of quality GI on steam deck that appears to be present on the switch. Seems like they prioritized material quality and geometry density over the better lighting on deck.

  12. What the hell did they do to my boy, Johnny? Did he go surfing without sunscreen for far too long?

Switch looks terrible, can’t wait for the Switch 2 next year

  15. Looks better than I expected frankly. Obviously the graphically inferior version, but it’s not bad. Just muddier.

Seems like they built new graphical assets for the Switch, rather than trying to downscale or something. Seems like it worked pretty well.

Ngl, the Switch performs better than I expected. Aside from the awkward load times and obvious downgrade in graphics, it honestly not that bad overall. I’m impressed.

Hopefully a few patches down the line will improve it, but for what it is, it does show how fairly capable the Switch really is despite its older and weaker hardware

Don’t know if they showed in the video, but does anyone know if the switch version has the horrible lag during fatalities like mk11 had?

Been playing all weekend. The switch version definitely came in hot (long load times, texture loading issues, invasion mode isn’t fully available) but when it works, I think it’s either on par or slightly better than the MK11 port. My guess is some of the issues will be patched over time.

One absolutely broken thing is the end cinematic in the towers. The textures and frame rate just take a dump.

The game also drops frames when calling out a kameo. Not sure if that’ll be fixed over time

Lol 70 bucks for a version that looks this terrible? Would be better not coming to switch at all or wait till switch 2 and release and ultimate edition or something?
