I’m afraid of what will people do using the Animation Studio, you can make the character do any animation you want and it puts them in front of a green screen…..

Didn’t expect a T rating. Wonder how this will affect some content in Dual Destinies. šŸ¤”

I hope after that they provide language patches for the Great Ace Attorney games. Sucks that those are only available with English text.

  4. Hopefully when this releases, Capcom finally give the Ace Attorney Investigations games the same treatment next.

I’ve played the fan translation of AAI2 and it’s absolutely criminal that what is possibly the best game in the whole series (I’ve yet to play the Great Ace Attorney games) remains the only one never released outside of Japan. And that’s coming from somebody who ranks AAI1 as one of the weakest in the series. Seriously, if you didn’t care for AAI1, don’t write off AAI2 on that basis, as that would be like writing off Trials & Tribulations after Justice For All.

It would also be nice to see Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright get a rerelease. It would be fantastic to see that bundled along with the two AAI games (making it a collection of the “spinoff” games), but I doubt that, as Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright would probably perform well being released on it’s own (which matters even more given it’s a crossover game and subject to licensing agreements).

  5. I’m assuming no physical release for USA and will have to import via PlayAsia?

It looks like these re-releases are going to be played extremely straight and relatively unchanged, which is a shame, because… this is the part of the trilogy that could really use some tweaks under the hood.

Not to get too spoilerly or critical, but this trio of games definitely doesn’t feel much like a cohesive trilogy, especially the way some characters are handled. I know the updated script for the original trilogy updated some references to “ESP” into spirit medium references, and maybe they’ll manage to smooth things over a bit, but I think the problems here are more… structural. AA5 is also extremely hand-holdy at the start, which made some sense when it had been six years and a handheld generation since the last game, but in the middle of a trilogy it’ll be especially jarring.

Maybe I’m being unrealistic and I should be glad we have a straightforward version at all for preservation, but I think this chunk of games really deserves a full remake at some point to sand over some edges and tie them together better. At the very least, man, it would have been nice if you could use the AA5 costumes in AA6 and vice versa.

So I was never a visual novel guy. But a couple years ago I finally tried Danganronpa on Vita and loved it. So I decided to give another one a try, and I really dug the art design of the new Famicon Detective Clubs. I hate that freaking game. Its design is so archaic and it is an absolute bore to play.

All that to say, the Ace Attorney collections on Switch look interesting to me, but I’m too wary of getting burned again. Is there anyone who has played both Ace Attorney and Famicon Detective Club that can give me their take?

Does this mean we can experience the CLUSSY again?

Now we just need Ace Attorney Investigations

French voiceover, lot of bonuses and a great graphical refresh. As an Ace Attorney fan, that’s day one for me.

  12. As someone who’s played the originals, I highly recommend this one. It’s time for chords of steel!

It doesn’t just focus on Apollo, but on Phoenix and Athena as well. I think all three games are pretty solid, I honestly can’t decide which one’s the best.

This reminds me that I never finished the previous collection that came out
