The final Stadium that hasn’t been done in this series during a month where Alola has always gotten at least 1 Sync Pair, must account for something right? In a weird roundabout way it’s nice that I didn’t do Kalos when it first ran as this would mean I’d have to do it a second time here. This series will be going mia until Galar is added or DeNA cranks up the score again. Hopefully the former happens first.
TIMESTAMPS:
0:00 Round 1: Fastest Alolamon
2:12 Round 2: Professor Nukue
6:17 Round 3: :ItsGonnaHurtSoMuchWhenIHit:
8:54 Round 4: Bouquet of Lillies
11:34 Round 5: Sandless Naomi 🗿
Round 1: Siebold
Parameter: Sync in Half
I swear DeNA loves putting this perameter on when I have to do these videos. Fear not, SS Hau being a speedy unit in all respects can do this with ease. An underrated aspect of SS Hau is his self sufficency, he can max out his nuke quite well and it’s pretty slept on. If he had Fairy Wish MPR it’d be more reliable for long-form battles but Whimsical Sync doesn’t always have to be gridded for SS Hau to nuke fantastically. In this battle I didn’t grid Power Plant since it’s a quick battle and the Terrain Extension helps it last long enough. Anabel is a great tank and Sophocles was pretty much the best theme skill bot, paralysis applicator and speed de-buffer I could ask for when doing this. I wonder if Sophocles EX will be out by the time Galar CS arrives, probably not.
Round 2: Malva
Parameter: Addtional Effects
Back in my grace period of being a new player Kukui was my best Rock Type bar none, he helped me a lot back then. Even to this day I enjoy using his unit for the standard Stat De-buffs and Accelroc Flinches, but not for the damage anymore. Reason is Kukui’s grid is complicated (it takes 30 energy to get his flinch node) and his nuke has the dishonour of lacking an innate Sync Nuke Multiplier, hmmp. Well with on-type we can still humour it, and he does let it up himself with the defence de-buffs. I brought SS Acerola to buff Critical Hit Rate and to give more ommph to the Accelroc when I used it and standard Acerola gives Kukui the sand he wants for Sand Blaster, she also handles flinching for Kukui can comfortably use Leer while keeping the fat stack of PMUN. This clear is long because of precise flinches and a random freeze that happened.
Round 3: Wikstrom
Parameter: Special Shield
The true Buzzma showcase. First time was as a quicky nuker and second time was over before it started. This is the exact play-style SC Guzma was built for, wait a while to charge up Dynamic Punch from missing and then unleash a truly powerful +10 PMUN stack. The method you get there though is weird to work with (and he also wants Fighting Zone these days on top of that). For the sake of this clear I went ahead and used Elio for one means of stalling until Guzma’s Sync and Plumeria as another means of stalling until Guzma’s Sync (she’s also very fast to help with the move gauge). Fighting-Weak Wikstrom doesn’t have evasion buffs which is funny to think about how DeNA’s philosophy changed when it came to Fighting-Weak content.
Round 4: Drasna
Parameter: Status Conditions
The single character that got me into this game (and the tragic fact I don’t use her base unit that much). Well it’s September, Lillie was added 3 years ago, Anniversary Lillie was added 2 years ago and Lodge Lillie was added a year ago, what a perfect team for this Fairy-Weak clear. Base Lillie is a good tank given Group Dragon Guard is one of her base passives, Lodge Lillie nukes and is a fun de-buffer and Anni Lillie does her typical Super Effective damage. I did go a bit overboard selecting the +3 enemy stats option. This stage wants you to use Fairy Zone but given all the Lillies have decent bulk (and again Dragon Guard) it was not much of an issue. A pretty enjoyable clear overall.
Round 5: Diantha
Perameter: Stat Lowering Buffed + Addtional Effects
If you’re using Naomi, don’t do this please. The idea is funny but just, make use of those sand passives. Since Naomi’s event is re-running and it’s Ground-Weak this week, might as well show her off again. Naomi’s bulk is the worst in the entire game, her stats were tinkered to be at 5* at all times just like Hop’s. The new BP Olivia will be our life guard, except she will also have a live guard in SC Lillie who provides those useful flinches. While BP Olivia will tank standard battles and Legendary Arenas just fine she doesn’t fair well against Master Mode while also not having potions to speak of. The defence buffs and damage guard hard carry her viability as a tank. SC Lillie continues to be a great Alola Support, flinch + crit support + hp regen + healing + extra random effects is very good, select her if you wish, she might surprise you. For this battle I went for a cheeky double Support Sync Buff, this was only possible thanks to the flinches. In the end Naomi handles this battle decently, Ground-Weak Diantha is just a huge annoyance in general. 6* EX Naomi when?
