This set has first-ever English prints of a Japanese Illustrator Promo, first-ever prints of Ho-oh and Lugia ex, and deck boxes themed around the Kanto Big 3, not to mention a quality game board with plastic damage counters and status markers.
This would be a cool product for, say, $100-$150 or $200 at most.
But it’s about half as cool at an entirely unjustified $400.
Do not buy this product and do not buy from the scalpers who are looking to flip it. It’s not worth it.

Based on that price point, it looks like MBAs struck again. Still better than the fiasco Hasbro created with the MTG 30th anniversary set though.

Damn, that’s a pretty big chunk of my childhood in one box.
If my son was old enough to play I’d definitely be tempted, but there’s no way I’m going drop 400 on it.
