Makes sense. Pikmin 4 was amazing, but the ending just left me wanting more of it. I can see a lot of people feeling the same and opting to go back and try the older games after finishing Pikmin 4.

People are willing to pay for physical re-releases of Gamecube titles. Metroid Prime Remastered had healthy demand on release; Paper Mario: TTYD is gonna sell more than the recent entries, guaranteed. Do the same with F-Zero GX, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess

It feels like Pikmin4 made for the masses rather than for existing Pikmin fans. Playing 1-3 feels really genuine and true to the original idea. Pikmin 4 looks absolutely gorgeous, but the main characters are not Pikmin – it’s the dog and castaways. The Pikmin feel like side characters in Pikmin 4. Not to mention any time I do anything, the castaways interrupt me by saying things like “ouch that fire is hot”. It doesn’t feel like I am isolated with the Pikmin but rather being watched the whole time.

I decided to play through 3 before I play 4, and while the main story is sadly very short, I’m still grinding away trying to platinum all the missions. Some of them are really, really challenging which I like.
