What relatively niche Nintendo franchises do you feel deserve more attention and sales?

One recent franchise that I keep badgering on about that got resurrected after 15 years but nobody seemed to care about at the time… is Advance Wars. This is a wonderful little strategy series packed with a ton of content charm, and replay value in spades. Much like Golden Sun and F-Zero, two other popular picks for favorite niche Nintendo franchises, it was seemingly tossed aside because other similar franchises blew up in their stead.

I played the original GBA games like crazy when I was younger and had more disposable time and income, and the two DS games were fun times as well. And revisiting the originals on the Switch with the recent [Reboot Camp](https://youtu.be/95dbXS1tPbI?feature=shared) reminded me how I want more games to be: highly polished and packed with meaningful content worthy of the AAA price tag they’re putting on it (looking at you Pokemon Scarlet Violet and Mario Strikers Battle League).

It also reminded me how I want more remakes to be: preserve the essence, narrative, and gameplay content of what made those originals such revered classics, while not trampling over the original vision… *without* omitting content for arbitrary, often blatantly money-grubbing reasons (looking at you Resident Evil 4 Remake and Persona 3 Reload).

I think Warioland is way overdue for a new game and would be a great contrast to 2d Mario games as it was back then.

Something like Pizza Tower showed there is a very passionate audience for Warioland.

Star Fox. The last the last main one that moved continuity forward was on the GameCube and the franchise has so much potential that Nintendo doesn’t touch.

Punch-Out!! Criminally underrated franchise, the Wii game is outstanding. I’d love another one eventually!

Custom Robo. All I could think of while playing Armored Core 6 was how much I wish Nintendo would get back into the customizable mech game

F-Zero. Glad 99 is getting the attention it deserves but now its time for a true sequel.

    Golden Sun and Kid Icarus

If Star Fox counts, that too.

I’d usually say Xenoblade Chronicles and Pikmin, but those are growing steadily well at the present moment so I hope they become decently popular some day.

Am I the only one surprised a Nintendogs game hasn’t come out on the switch? Imagine if animal crossing and Nintendogs had both come out during the pandemic.

Golden Sun. Some people won’t call it a niche, but I think it’s niche enough if there’s no sequel or a remake on the switch.

I want another Chibi-Robo game so bad. The original was so innovative for it’s time and they could really expand on it with the capabilities of the Switch. Multiplayer, more detailed and immersive areas to clean up, motion controls!?! Would be an absolute blast.

    Sin and Punishment.

The two games are amazing. It’s insane how overlooked they are, even in discussions about overlooked games they end up getting missed.

Rhythm Heaven is one I’m sad we haven’t seen a game on the switch for yet. I just recently got around to playing Rhythm Heaven Megamix on my 3DS and I’m sad this game didn’t get the promotion behind it like the DS Rhythm Heaven got, though I think the lack of a physical release for it in North America likely played a major factor in that.

Another one that hasn’t gotten any love since the DS release: Custom Robo. Custom Robo Arena was one of my favorites as a child and I’d love to see a new one

Ever Oasis. Fun gameplay. A bit clunky but it was new and refreshing.
Cute character design that felt very Nintendo, a great set of races in the world

And the main thing was a little city builder within an rpg. It could have been expanded on so much.

Elite Beat Agents is definitely due for a sequel.

    Excitebike, Waverace, 1080 snowboarding.

  16. I would love a 1080 Snowboarding for the switch, one of my favourite 64 games.

  17. Snowboard Kids. It’s just like Mario Kart with a pretty decent story mode.

Personally I thought Snowboard Kids 2 was much better but I think that franchise would do so well in the online-multiplayer sector.

Fun unique characters with exciting music and pretty easy-to-learn curve.
