So what’s special about this one as compared to New SMB? Just the elephant thing?

I’m looking forward to a new 2D Mario game. (New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe was fine and all, but I never got into the handling of the acorn powerup. Luckily, you didn’t need to fly often.)
I just hope the elephant power up doesn’t have awkward controls.

I really loved how they took a page outta Odyssey’s book and made Mario cartoony again. The way the Elephant power up has to squeeze through pipes and doors is just charming. Unpopular opinion but the animations and personality alone was enough for me to buy this day 1

I preordered this back in June and it’ll be 4 months later when it finally releases, which this last stretch of waiting is the hardest
Super Mario World is my all time favorite Mario so anything that orbits anywhere close to it will make me happy
I really liked, but didn’t love, the New Super Mario Bros series and am ready to hopefully fall in love again with Wonder (looks kinky enough to spice things up)
