   Ken and Ryu are roughly equal in power, but since ken has a speed advantage they had to take him down a peg. On his hurricane kick (tatsu), it takes 3 hits to equal ryu’s one hit. Just like in the SF series.

   Isn’t that usually the case? Both in game and canonically Ken usually out does Ryu in most games but Ryu has more potential lore wise.
