At the end of the day it’s your collection, I’d rather have a bunch of powered up pokemon that I really like than some random pokemon who happens to have a random IV that makes them good at a specific league

Happiness is key, if you want to play this game for a long time, do what makes you happy with your collection. Not what’s good in gbl or raids. No waste here imo

Regular Arcanine is already incredibly strong, making hisui arcanine already quite good, not to mention that this shiny form just came out last week making this an even bigger flex
Got this right after the event ended. I had one kilometer left on my only remaining “Walk 5 km” field research task, and the reward was a shiny good boy. This one is so cool, and I plan to do the exact same thing, no regrets! It’ll be next up to best buddy also.
I did the same. I absolutely love H-Arcanine, I was unable to get a shiny but I did get a 98% so I 40 maxed it. I usually 40 max (If I have the candy) my fav Mons. I don’t really care about pvp and raids are gonna be down with other people anyway so if your Mons are lacking it ain’t that big of a deal. For me atleast
I hatched one of those! I refuse to evolve it though unless I get another one, I love his emo hair. Plus I already have a perfect non shiny hitsu arcanine

I find that when I do gyms I never really need a slightly stronger Pokémon.. we either beat the gym easy or can’t by a mile. Might as well do what you want with the dust!
I wasted a lot, not as much as you, but enough to second guess myself. This was before the event, so you can imagine how annoyed I was when I had, not one, not two, but 3 of these Growlithes at near perfect IVs through the event. Meanwhile, my Arcanine is a 2 star 😅

I waited till she was best bud.
(Also used 390 rare candies to evolve)
You can always get more dust, no harm powering something you want. And i normally just save dust for meta pokemons.
I powered a shadow poliwrath to 48(all my candies), gave it 2nd charged move. 400k ish dust
And i occasionally put it in gyms for fun.
No regrets.
