It’s a 1 star raid that I can do by myself. In a 3 or 5 star raid you’ll often want to wait to see if other people join. It’s in raids you can do by yourself this function would be most useful but it’s also where you can’t use it. I honestly don’t understand how Niantic thinks sometimes.

Niantic thinks that raids are a social interaction, so you have to wait for others to join. But I’m glad they decided to have you wait a bit longer, rather than making all raids impossible to solo.
So people don’t drive and play.

Yeah I fail to see how this business decision makes them money. They’re just dickheads who want you to play the game the way they think it should be played regardless of your time commitments, location, etc 🤷♂️
Bane of my life at the moment, with trying to get those 60 raids. Having to wait two minutes to do a raid I can knock out in 10 to 20 seconds is driving me up the wall.

When my friends invite me to 1* raids I just join ready up and then leave once they do too. I think that’s what they’re going for lol.
can i ask what cp the raid was im still fairly new and will probably play solo

Thanks for posting this. I never realized a solo raider couldn’t hit the ready button the first dozen times I’ve seen this posted recently, but it finally clicked.
Don’t question Niantic they clearly know the best way to play their game. They know how you have fun.
They should leave the timer for public lobbies, and have a ready now button for private.

Trying to do the x # of raids tasks is so frustrating because of this. To be fair though, I’ve noticed that it seems like as long as you are in the lobby you can walk away from the gym and the raid will still start normally.
Does Niantic even want this game to be fun? There’s so many needless hindrances all over the place, this just being one of many. Sorry to burst your bubble Niantic but literally no one is going out of their way to team up for tier 1-3 raids. Just let us play the fuckin game jfc
Because niantic hates you. Why would they put in a feature that makes sense to have? Of course they have to butcher it in a way that 90% of their player base won’t bother on using and still have to wait for the countdown

For you. Someone else might not be able to solo it, and only join in if they see someone else so they’ll have help. This creates that opportunity for them.
I normally wait until the time runs out and then it starts automatiocally
I really want the 1 star raids to have the ready button available right away. They’re super simple, we don’t need to wait two minutes, never have

Just today I saw someone enter a raid, and I was running to join it even though it was only 3 stars. So I was annoyed with this, except for today
In big city’s it makes sense so everyone can reap the benefits but niantic doesn’t seem to care about us in the suburbs where your lucky to get one other random person to join
Yeah i get annoyed with that on 1 star raids i am ok waiting on other raids but 1 star raids you shouldn’t have to wait i wait longer then it takes for me to defeat lol
